IT'S ALL FOR THE MISSION (Sasuke x Naruto)

Chapter 3

Sasuke woke to the faint light filtering through the blinds of Naruto's bedroom. For a moment, he was disoriented, unsure of where he was. Then the events of the previous night came rushing back—analyzing mission reports late into the night, Naruto falling asleep at the table, and him carrying her to bed.

He looked at her sleeping form, her back turned to him, and felt heat creep up his neck. This is awkward. Moving carefully, he got up and slipped out of the room, making sure not to make a sound.

When he got home, his dad and Itachi were deep in some conversation. Sasuke ignored them and headed straight to his room. It was only 6 AM. He tossed himself onto his bed and decided to get another hour of sleep.

Naruto woke up at 8:30 AM and completed her morning routine. After taking a shower and getting dressed, she headed to the training ground to meet her teammates.

Sasuke felt Naruto's chakra, and his heart raced. To conceal his emotions, he pretended to train.

Naruto was still stressed about the mission, she didn't bother Sasuke and instead focused on the undercover details.

Eventually, Sakura arrived.

The trio discussed things, such as how they should act and what they should wear.

Time skip...

Team 7 quickly finished their plan and headed to a barbecue restaurant for lunch, they met Team 10 on the way and greeted them.

"I hear you're picking up Team 8's mission," Shikamaru said, looking as lazy as ever.

Naruto grinned. "Yep. Guess Granny knew I'm smarter than you."

Shikamaru sighed. "What a drag..."

They all decided to eat together. Naruto spent most of the meal teasing Shikamaru about Temari, while Sakura got into a spat with Ino over where to sit.

"Sasuke doesn't like you, Billboard Brow," Ino said smugly. "Get over it."

"Shut up, Ino Pig!" Sakura snapped.

Sasuke mentally sighed in relief. At least Ino wasn't throwing herself at him anymore.

When lunch wrapped up, they said their goodbyes. Team 7 didn't share any mission details, keeping the S-rank assignment on the down low.

They bid goodbye to the other team.

Sakura stopped Sasuke. "W-w-wait, Sasuke-kun, you've been ignoring me all this time," she said.

Sasuke was dumbfounded.

Naruto smirked at his expression.

Naruto signaled Sasuke. She used multi-shadow clones to distract Sakura. They both ran holding hands.

They both panted...

"You owe me big time, teme," said Naruto.

"Umm,"I didn't ask for your help, dobe," Sasuke shot back, though the corner of his mouth twitched like he was about to smile.

"You're as ungrateful as ever, teme." Said Naruto as they both sat together on a bench.

One young couple caught their attention. They were expecting their first child, and the husband helped the wife walk.

Naruto remembered Sakura's words... Am I not suited for being a wife and a mother?

"You'll never know the outcome until you try", replied Kurama.
