Right after the little pants incident in the canteen, it was back to class for everyone. One-by one, each section made their way back to their respective classrooms. Unlike how they were in the morning, half of G-A were about to pass out on their desks. Some of them already were. Nobody could wake them up in a heartbeat even if they wanted to, except for one person.
"Good afternoon, G-A!" said a slightly high-pitched male voice while the door gently slammed open.
It was the zesty 8th grade math teacher. Everyone loved him but also dreaded him. Hearing his voice was a guaranteed wake-up, and also like a final boss fight engagement cutscene. Except the game only ended in you losing. He was the gentle type of teacher that would let you sleep in class, make his tests sometimes ridiculously easy, and chat with the students after giving them a 5-minute break after a 20-minute lesson. That's why most students love him, they just really hate his subject.
Everyone quickly snapped back to reality involuntarily and dizzily stood up.
"Good afternoon, Sir Bay." said the class, drowsily but in unison.
This was most definitely the part in the day they all hated. It was like hell in one classroom. One time, Sir Bay entered the class all giddy with a stack of papers that were tests the students were going to take one hellish Thursday afternoon. As soon as each student saw that test, they started panicking. You could practically feel the negative energy radiating from every student around. All they had was a ballpen, an extra sheet of paper to attempt solving some problems, and 3-4 hours of sleep. Except for the smart kids, of course they had an upper hand. There were sniffling sounds coming from the back, those were just the kids that tried paying attention during his class but can't seem to comprehend whatever he was saying. Some were even slacking off and just slept throughout the entire allotted time. Crying was allowed, you just had to keep it down.
"Today we will be checking your assignment, that I've given last Thursday." Sir Bay said, folding his arms like a disappointed middle school English teacher.
Immediately, the class started exchanging glances with one another. Some were speaking with their eyes saying, "What assignment?" "There was homework?" and "I forgot to do it."
Some of the kids brought out the workbook the assignment was given on and some of them just completely gave up, but Sir Bay didn't even give one shit.
Sir Bay called up some people to put their answers on the board, when he called ones that didn't do the assignment, they just shook their head, and he excused them like he always did.
After what felt like an hour but was actually only 15 minutes, the checking finished and since there was nothing else to do and Sir Bay didn't want to bore the class with a long discussion after they had somewhat of an exhausting week, so he let them do what they want as long as they didn't cause havoc.
Rose and Zia started chit-chatting when they got permission and there was one thing in particular that Zia said that caught Rose's attention.
Rose's boyfriend was brushing her hair from behind like he always did.
The two were always a lovey-dovey couple, always having each other's physical affection even in public, some people minded but there was nothing they could do about that. And all those two did was make everybody feel painfully single.
"Did I mention my new crush?" Zia said, quite matter-of-factly in the middle of the conversation.
Rose shivered like a cat getting soaked in ice water in her seat. Zia? The Casper of G-A? With a crush? Two words that she thought would never go in the same sentence.
"Excuse me what?" Rose asked, bewildered. She didn't exactly know Zia as the type to have a crush, especially in the school, because no boy there fit her type (majority of her type consisted of fictional characters).
"Well, yeah, I started crushing on him just last month basically." Zia confirmed. It took her so long to tell her other friends about it because she feared what their reactions might be, considering their reputation as the singularity girl.
"Boy or girl?" Rose had to ask, since Zia was bisexual. Again, mostly just for fictional characters.
"Boy actually"
"From which class?"
"This one"
"But this class is full of jocks and hobos." Rose stated, throwing some shade at the boys in their class. Funny story from 7th grade, one of the boys Rayne was messing around in the classroom while there was no teacher and the class was going about, when a fan that was drilled to the wall fell on top of him. So now that he was in the 8th grade, the teachers joked about not seating him next to the wall just so another fan wouldn't fall on top of him.
One would probably classify Rayne as a playboy, he had the looks of one too. Hot, smart, funny, good at sports, confident, physically attractive, all the things most girls look for in a guy, and damn well he took advantage of that.
"It's Rayne, isn't it?" Rose raised an eyebrow, suspicious that her friend would like a playboy. Never would that happen on her watch.
"No, actually"
"Then who is it?"
"Eric."
Rose's eyes widened more than it should.
"The twink secretary of ours?" She confirmed, she thought that having a crush on a playboy was bad but having a crush on a boy who acted gay? Somehow even worse.
"Yeah, that fucker." Zia tried to cover up what she was feeling while talking about him, and it was kind of working.
Well, this was going to be news for the rest of the girls, and maybe to Eric himself. Now they both had to figure out how they were going to relay this information to the rest of the group...
this was going to be interesting...
