Hey guys! First of all, I know I have the Chinese version of the poster as the cover, but for the life of me I cannot find the English one so until I do, it'll work just fine.
Second, I don't know if I told you guys but I recently went back to college and with my school schedule and work schedule (it's jammed packed for the next two weeks because I made the mistake of asking for more shifts) I may not be able to find the time to write a review every single day. I am already planning on having to work on them in between classes and/or in my car just to get them done so we'll try to do one a day but if I miss one, don't take it personally. Just thought I'd warn you now. If I need to update the schedule or if I have to miss one, I will put an announcement in the conversation section of my profile.
Lastly, if this is your first time reading my reviews, let me explain a little of how this works. First, I will talk about the plot of the episode, then list all the things I liked, then all the things I didn't, and last I will give the episode a ranking from 1-10, 10 being the best. I will also point out my favorite line in the episode from any character. Ok so let's get started:
Plot: Jordana and Ras travel to an ancient temple in the middle of the forest of spirits. There they use some reserve source dragon energy to open it and find a gong that Ras plans to use. We see footage of the ninja saving people and asking where the other ninja are. Arin is upset that he doesn't have an elemental power like Sora does. Lloyd is having trouble sleeping because he keeps having visions of the bloodmoon and wolf mask warriors. Arin tells Lloyd that he can't sleep because he's worried about his parents being lost in the merge. Ras recruits Cinder, the new master of smoke, to his team and sends him to get a hammer. Arin, Sora and Riyu get a note from Creel asking for their help and go by themselves to check it out. Sora gets an idea and goes to the crossroads and look at the antique shops around the place to try and catch him. They run into a battle with Cinder. Lloyd learns where they are and comes to help them, but has a vision/panic attack when he sees the wolf masks warriors. He screams into the night that "the bloodmoon is coming!" Cinder gives the mallet to Ras and he bangs the ancient gong.
Things I enjoyed:
- Hey! They found the Mechanic!
- Fugi Dove returns! (And he's stuck in a tree! 😂)
- I love how Riyu started dancing with everyone! So cute! 🥰
- I love the Prime Empire theme overture they use for the music at the beginning. Brings back memories.
- I didn't like teenage Riyu's design at first but it's growing on me.
- Lloyd's can't sleep gags are hilarious. 😂
- Dang Egalt's design looks awesome in that vision! The entire vision was well animated.
- Arin's Wu impression was adorable.
- Riyu's face in the selfie Creel took! 😂🐉
- Riyu missing the ice cream and licking Arin in the face. It's so cute!
- The conversations between Arin and Sora are so wholesome!
- Cinder is a BEAST at fighting and I already love him as a villain! Nice voice actor too!
Things I didn't like:
- The intro is better than last season's but it's still not good. Also they leak what the rising dragon technique looks like in the intro?! Whose idea was that?!
- I still don't think Jordana is a good character. Sorry.
- I'm still concerned what happened to Ash (but as of this point I've only seen up to episode 3 so I don't know if they ever explain)
- CINDER YOU CAN'T JUST ATTACK UNARMED CHILDREN LIKE THAT! 😭😂
- Seriously how is Arin ok after being flipped on his back like that?
