Episode 13: They Gather For The Feast

Hello everyone! Time for another review!

Plot: In a flashback, we see how Arin and Frak met when Frak saved him from a couple of bullies. In the present, Frak vouches for Riyu and Arin and the guards release them. Frak shows Arin his new quake power and explains how he's training with a master to use them properly. The rest of the ninja find them and Arin joins them on a tour of the city. Roby explains the rules of the tournament and how the loser of each match gives their powers to the winner until there is one winner who has everyone's powers. Then they give them back to the rightful owners at the end of the tournament during a victory ceremony. The ninja run into Zant-Tanz (that's the way the subtitles says it's spelled so that's what I'm going with) who tells them he has the master of plants. Then they all come into the dining hall to go to a big banquet with all of their competitors. The ninja run into new people and old friends, but Jordana pulls Sora aside and asks her for help. Then Cinder, and Nokt try to stir up trouble, but Roby stops them and they back off. Lloyd runs into Ras who tells him his team is here to fight. Zeatrix interrupts the festivities and swears revenge on her sister for overthrowing her sister, because she wanted to that herself. She demands entry to the tournament and Bleckt and Roby let her in. Everyone goes back to their quarters and the ninja talk about who could be behind the Matriarch's death. They all go to sleep, but in the middle of the night, someone sneaks into the ninja's quarters and tries to kill Lloyd with a poison thorn. Lloyd and the ninja chase him down wake up the rest of the competitors. They gather in the town and Lloyd explains what happened, and then Ras and Zeatrix show they have also been attacked by bots. Tox determines that the thorn is from the Mother Garden, so Zant-Tanz is expelled from the tournament, even though he claims he didn't do it. When everyone starts to leave, Nya sees Jay in the crowd and tries to follow him, but loses him.

Things I enjoyed:

- Riyu's laugh. 😂

- Frak is literally me when it comes to this show!

- Roby winking at Wyldfyre is the cutest thing!

- Lloyd looks so good in his master suit! White really suits him.

- Nya cares for Wyldfyre so much.

- Every time Nya talks about Jay. ☺️

- The chase scene with the intruder was really cool!

- Not the seabound music at the end! 😭

Things I didn't like:

- How is plants a power? How is that different than nature?

- Why is Zeatrix even here? Every time she's on screen I want to role my eyes.

- They seriously downplayed Cinder this season. What happened to him being ruthless? Now he's just a high school bully role and I don't like it!

- I'm sorry, but was getting Zant-Tanz of all people expelled really going to help anyone's game?

Overall score: 6/10

Favorite line: "I've been to some awkward dinners, like when Jay ate the host's fern thinking it was a side salad. Or when Jay asked for sushi from a fish waiter in the undersea kingdom of Merlopia... actually, being with Jay led to many awkward dinners, but tonight was in the top ten." -Nya
