This was it. Today was the big day, you and Toji's wedding day. You had spent most of the night tossing and turning in bed with anxiety, which resulted in getting only two hours of sleep. What a great way to start the day, right?
After about ten minutes of you laying in bed and staring into space, your mother and many other maids came rushing into your room.
"Rise and shine Y/N darling!" She chirped, dragging you by the arm out of bed, "It's your big day!"
"Good morning, Mother," you yawn.
"We need to hurry up and get you ready. The press will be here any minute now. We need you to look your best if you're to represent our family.
"Yes, mother." You reply, mentally rolling your eyes.
The next 3 hours consisted of the maids doing your makeup and hair and fitting you into your dress. You were still pretty tired and were disassociating with pretty much everything that was going on around you. That was until your mother gave you a piece of paper with your so-called 'wedding vows' on it. She instructed you to memorise them while you got ready. It was already hard for you to mentally process anything, and this just added to your troubles.
Currently, thoughts were racing through your brain at a hundred miles per hour, the most prominent one being your previous love, Satoru Gojo. How would he react to all of this? You had left him a week before meeting Toji since your parents had instructed you to do so. You hadn't given him any proper reason either.
He'd see you and Toji all over social media and hate you, right? Well, there was no stopping it, the wedding was already in motion."Miss L/N, you're all done." The woman finishing up your hair said, snapping you out of your mental trance.
"Oh, right, thank you." You answer.
You looked at yourself in the mirror, you couldn't lie, you looked beautiful.
Your H/C hair was tied up into a curly bun with curls left out in the front. The bun was also adorned with small, shiny silver pieces of jewellery. Your makeup was smooth and done flawlessly. better than you could do it yourself. Your lips were also a light glossy pink colour, completing the whole look. The pure white dress you wore hugged your body tightly, enhancing your curves. Behind it was a long train that had a pretty and intricately designed lace.
Your mother was right. For once, you did look your best.As you stepped out of the room, you were met with a flurry of activity. The house was buzzing with excitement and anticipation for the wedding ceremony. You walked down the hallway, feeling a little unsteady on your feet due to the nerves that were still coursing through you. You could hear the soft murmur of voices coming from the main hall and knew that the guests were already arriving.
You took a deep breath and tried to steady yourself. This was it, the moment you had been dreading since you met your husband-to-be three days ago. It was a strange feeling, but you tried to push it aside and focus on the task at hand. You had to walk down the aisle, say your vows, and become a Zen'in, for the sake of your family's status and reputation.
As you walked down the stairs, you could see your father waiting for you at the bottom. He looked dapper in his tuxedo and had a proud smile on his face. He offered you his arm, and you took it. You walked together towards the main hall, where the wedding ceremony was about to take place.
The hall was decorated beautifully, with white flowers and greenery adorning the walls and pillars. The aisle was lined with flickering candles, casting a warm glow over the proceedings. The guests were seated, and you could see Toji standing at the altar. It was the first time you had seen him since you'd met for the first time.
You couldn't lie, Toji looked good in his wedding tuxedo. The black suit was tailored to perfection, hugging his well-built frame in all the right places. The crisp white shirt he wore beneath the jacket was unbuttoned at the top, giving him a relaxed yet elegant look. His black bowtie was neatly tied, and it complemented the suit perfectly. The whole ensemble was finished off with shiny black shoes that gleamed in the light. Besides all of this, his face wore the most stoic and unbothered expression you'd seen. You could tell he was already over all of this.
As you walked down the aisle towards him, you could feel all eyes on you. You tried to keep your head down and focus on your steps, but it was hard. You could feel your heart pounding in your chest, and your palms were sweaty. Finally, you reached the altar, and Toji took your hand in his.
The wedding ceremony began with the priest giving a sermon about love, commitment, and the sanctity of marriage. You tried to listen, but your mind was elsewhere, still thinking about Satoru. However, as the ceremony went on, you found your attention being drawn to Toji. Despite his stoic expression, you could tell that he was taking the ceremony seriously. Though it was probably just to avoid being scolded by Naobito for the umpteenth time.
As the priest asked for your vows, you felt a lump form in your throat. You tried to remember the words your mother had given you earlier, but they seemed to have escaped your mind. Instead, you decided to think about the man you truly loved and speak as if it were him standing in front of you. You promised to love, honour, and respect him, to be there for him in good times and bad, and to be a faithful and devoted wife.
Toji, in turn, spoke his vows, promising to love, cherish, and protect you for the rest of his life. His words were simple, but you knew that none of it was true. When it was time to exchange rings, you slid the ring onto his finger, feeling a sense of finality wash over you.
Finally, the priest pronounced you both husband and wife and announced that you were to kiss. This completely slipped your mind, you and forgotten that this was an important part of the wedding ceremonies that you hadn't prepared for at all. silence enveloped the hall as the crowd of guests waited in anticipation for you and Toji to press your lips together. At this point, your heart was pounding uncontrollably inside your chest. You looked up at Toji, wide-eyed and unsure of what to do. He looked back at you, his expression still unbothered. He rolled his eyes and grabbed your waist, then began leaning in. You closed your eyes tightly, bracing for your lips to meet his.
Eventually, your lips finally made contact with his. It was a brief, chaste kiss but enough to send the crowd of guests into an uproar of applause and cheering.
The rest of the ceremony went by in a blur. You signed the marriage certificate and took countless photos that included you, Toji, and the little Megumi, who looked adorable in his baby tux and dress shorts. You were also interviewed by the press for what seemed like hours, They asked you questions that you were heavily unprepared for, questions like
"How did you and Toji meet?"
"Is the little boy he was holding yours?"
"When will you be thinking of having children?"
Thankfully, your mother was there to take care of the press and answer the questions on your behalf.
The hard part was done now. All that was left to do was to get through the reception.
