Seokjin stopped his car near the entrance of the nearby park close to Jungkook's place. He didn't even park it properly, hurriedly getting out, worried if he had left the teenager waiting for him long. What could she want to talk about so late in the evening? Also about Jungkook? Was he ok? What if Mina did something even when Namjoon reassured him it would be fine?
No. Seokjin can't just be carefree and relaxed. Min Mina was a lethal woman. She could do anything and the last thing Seokjin wanted was to involve Jungkook or his family in his mess.
Seokjin ran towards the direction when he detected Jungsoo standing there wearing a green oversized hoodie, looking up at the sky. At the noise of someone approaching footsteps she looked up, her doe eyes resembling Jungkook's. 'God! He misses him.'
Seokjin was a little breathless when he stood in front of the teenager.
"Hello, Oppa." Jungsoo greeted politely bowing a little.
"Hey... Are you ok? Everything ok? Is Jungkook ok?" He asked urgently. Fuck! His heart was beating too loud. The thought of Jungkook being anything but well made his stomach turn.
Jungsoo chuckled. "Calm down. Everyone is fine. Are you fine, Oppa?"
Sokjin breathed in relief. His shoulder sagged as he let himself breathe. A little bit relaxed.
"So........ You do care about him." Jungsoo mumbled lowly but it was loud enough for Seokjin to hear even through his fast breathing. He tensed a bit, looking at Jungsoo, confused.
The younger scoffed, "You two look like you guys are held at gunpoint when you two talk. But that's totally different from how things are. Oppa's face lights up when he sees you and you always seem to go a little bit crazy whenever I bring his topic up. Like right now you reached here...." she looked at her watch, " Oh! You reached here within 10 minutes exactly. " Jungsoo smiled, all of her teeth on display. But Seokjin wasn't sure where this was going.
"What do you-"
"Then why did you hurt him, Oppa?" Jungsoo cut him off before Seokjin could form the sentence. Her face hardened in determination. Seokjin was taken aback by her retort.
"Don't lie and tell me you didn't because I know you did! I heard Oppa talking to your brother.. Kim Namjoon and I overheard everything."
"What...? Jungkook talked with Namjoon?" Seokjin asked surprised, he had no idea what was happening in between. Jungsoo nodded unsurely, her determined face faltering a bit at Seokjin's surprise.
"Oppa had been really upset over the past few weeks. He always looks tired and frustrated and he doesn't talk with any of us about anything. I don't even see him getting out of the room. He was never like that. And he avoids me too. I really miss him." she said the last part in a whisper as she looked down at her shoes rocking on the small of her feet, a sad pout forming on her lips.
Seokjin felt his heart break, he didn't know Jungkook was getting distant from his family. And for something he did even his family is going through the damage. Seokjin felt disgusted, guilty and helpless at the same time for causing so much pain to Jungkook.
"I really have no idea what happened and I know you don't owe me any explanation ....in fact, Jungkook Oppa doesn't even know I am meeting you here but," Jungsoo sighed looking down at her pink sneakers, "Oppa really wears his heart in his sleeves, we could all tell he liked you a lot when we saw you for the first time, he never brought anyone home without Tae oppa, " she paused for a bit, struggling to find proper words, "I-I also thought you liked him back, I-I know it was wrong of me to just assume, you can just be straight or you don't feel the same way, " She moved her hands around to make it seem like it wasn't a big deal but the words pierced through Seokjin's heart, he had the sudden urge to stop her, to tell her that's not the case, never the case.
