Two years have passed since Wall Maria fell. We have been working hard to reclaim what's rightfully ours, but more lives were lost.
I lose sleep every night knowing there are people I couldn't save. The roars of the Titans echo in my mind, haunting me with every step I take beyond the safety of our Walls. But despite the fear, we press on, driven by the hope that one day we'll push the Titans back beyond the horizon and restore peace to our land. Each day is a battle, not just against the Titans, but against our own doubts and fears. Yet, we find solace in the unity of our comrades and the determination that burns within each of us, a flame that refuses to be extinguished.
We are training a new Cadet Corps, and I think we have a great responsibility in training these young people.
The first among our Cadets is brother and sister duo, Eren Jaeger and Greta Jaeger. The siblings both shared bright teal eyes and dark brown hair that seemed to mirror the determination burning within them. Despite the tragedies that had befallen their family and the world around them, Eren and Greta carried themselves with a sense of purpose that belied their youth. As instructors, we see not just the potential for strength and skill in these cadets, but also the weight of the burden they will carry as defenders of humanity. It is our duty to guide them, to impart upon them the knowledge and skills necessary to face the Titans and protect what remains of our world. For in these cadets lies the hope for a brighter future, a future where the horrors of the Titans are nothing but a distant memory. I remember seeing the siblings on the boat which evacuated the remaining citizens of Shinganshina District. Greta was crying fearfully while the city was reduced to rubble, and Eren was trying to comfort her. The boy had an angry look that terrified me to the core; he got up from comforting his sister and glared at the Titans wandering aimlessly around the burning city. What he would say next would give me the chills, "I'm gonna put a stop to them, every last one."
His sense of purpose was terrifying.
Greta has the same sense of purpose, but she wasn't as rigid. I can tell she's the youngest out of her and Eren. There's a sadness about her that's heartbreaking to see. She and Eren had seen their mother get eaten alive and that unfortunate incident will haunt them the rest of their lives. The siblings are hardworking and will stop at nothing to avenge their mother.
Mikasa Ackerman is a childhood friend of Eren and Greta. She has lived with the siblings up until the fall of Wall Maria because her parents were murdered by bandits that had unthinkable intentions. Eren saved her life and she has been in his debt ever since. Everyone can see that she's in love with him. We can all see she has strength beyond her age.
Armin Arlert is another childhood friend of the Jaeger siblings. He has a strong desire for knowledge of what it's like outside the Walls. Armin has a huge heart and he loves his friends.

Sasha Braus brings life into the Cadet Corps with her humor and optimism. Along with being a skilled fighter from the Dauper, a hunting village in the mountains; she is also a huge lover of food. When I was supervising the training today, I saw she brought a steamed potato onto the training ground, Keith was not happy with her. As a result, she lost meal privileges for the next five days and she has to run until the sun goes down.
Sasha and Greta have become the best of friends, and it's fun to watch them train together.

Then we have Jean Kirschtein. He's from Trost District and he has one goal in mind, to join the Military Police. He believes he's a shoo in for the top ten Cadets. Jean is a little arrogant, but I can tell he has a good heart. He has the drive of a leader. There is one person in the Cadet Corps who has humbled him, and that person is Greta. He's falling in love with her, and she's falling for him as well. Eren isn't too happy about it because he's very protective of his sister. Speaking of which, Jean and Eren are always at odds with each other. The Cadets don't think we notice, but we do.

Connie Springer is a gifted fighter from Ragako Village. He was a little clumsy at the initiation, but we can all see his fighting spirit and his determination to fight against the Titans. We are all impressed by how quickly he adapted to using the Omni-Directional Mobility Gear. He  has become fast friends with Jean, Sasha, and Greta.

Ymir is a mysterious young woman who has a massive chip on her shoulder and mainly keeps to herself. She is only sixteen, but she has the mannerisms and vocabulary of someone much older. She was unnecessarily blunt to everyone, especially when it came to her best friend, Christa Lenz.

Christa is one of the most kindhearted people in the Cadet Corps. She goes out of her way to provide help anyone who may need it. Ymir makes fun of her for being too nice to people and tells her how it will get her taken advantage of one day.

Then there's Reiner Braun, Bertholdt Hoover, and Annie Leonhart. All three of them are from the same village and have the same reason for joining the Cadet Corps. Something doesn't feel right about them. Something feels off.

Last, but not least, is Marco Bodt. He's from the same village as Jean and looks up to him like a brother. Like Christa, he has a kind heart and he's very optimistic about our fight against the Titans. I wish we all had his optimism.

Captain Cara and Keith will be training the new Cadets. Cara is the youngest Scout in the Survey Corps, but she has seen a lot. She grew up in the Underground with our other esteemed Captain Levi. The duo went from being thugs to being our most respected captains in our regiment. In fact, they were the only survivors in their squad after a brutal Titan assault that happened years earlier.

As I'm going down the line of Cadets with my fellow Section Commanders, I'm can see all the young people wanting to join the fight against the Titans have a different motivation that drives them. Each Cadet stands with a unique determination etched on their face, fueled by personal experiences, aspirations, and dreams. Some carry the weight of past tragedies, driving them to seek vengeance against the Titans that wreak havoc on humanity. Others are motivated by the desire to protect their loved ones, to ensure a safer world for future generations. Each story, each motivation, adds another layer to the collective resolve of humanity in its relentless struggle against the Titans.
