On one regular Tuesday, Maisie came back from school early. The neighborhood was silent and still in comparison to the endless fuss that had been happening for the last couple of weeks. On that Tuesday Mom collapsed to the ground. Up until this point, she said she was fine, as she always did. This one was different. She couldn't brush that off anymore. Later that day, Maisie helped her get to the hospital. She was feeling nauseous, exhausted, and out of control. Maisie knew it was too late for her. She saw the symptoms coming for months, but she was scared to bring them up. Every time she even mentioned her taking on too much work, being stressed, depressed, and taking too many painkillers, she was always angry about it. Then she was okay for a few days, and after that another bad day happened when her mask of toughness was slipping. It was a loop, after a loop, after a loop. These loops led her down the spiral that led to annihilation. She lay in a hospital bed for over a week, until she passed away.

At her last moments, she claimed she had seen Daniel. How could Maisie interpret that? Was he gone, too?

It was a horrible time for Maisie. She was almost 18 so the house went down to her. She was spending there most of the time, skipping school, and lying in bed. It was a weird feeling for her, being the last one standing in her family. Dad had left them years back, Daniel went missing, Mom died. Was this her loop? Losing loved ones one after another. Where would that lead her? It was the one question she couldn't get out of her head. She could feel like her life leads her down this path. A railroad going down this spiral at full speed.
