• Werewolves •

I was racing Joel through the woods when I heard a growl and a flash of fur from my left a few meters away. I stopped and warned Joel about the wolf and he said for me to handle it, after he said that he ran off to somewhere I couldn't see. I heard another growl but now it was only a few feet away from me.

I stood, waiting for movement, but the wolf seemed to have stopped moving. I was getting curious to what happened but I didn't let the curiosity break my concentration. I focused my mind to hear breathing, anything to signal life but it seemed that the wolf had left. I started to sprint my way to the cabin where I lived, but after running a few miles, I heard multiple growls from my sides. I briefly thought about what happened to Joel, but I let the thought disappear as I darted to a clear area.

I went into a stance just before they caught up, I thought that they seemed a bit too fast but it was pushed away immediately when the largest wolf pounced for me. I rolled to the left but another wolf was waiting for me in the exact spot I landed, which made me bewildered at how it knew. The wolf got on top of me and started biting at my neck, but before it could I used my right leg and kicked it off me. It whimpered and the others got slightly mad but they seemed to contain it. They growled and then they ran off to the woods.

I stood waiting for them, because Jerome told me to always wait before immediately relaxing since the enemy could attack again. After 2 minutes I could hear paws hitting the ground and I tensed knowing that it were the wolves, but when they came I saw them come with clothes in their mouths. I watched all of them form a circle between themselves and then wait for a few moments. Then suddenly the smallest wolf dropped the clothes and howled. The others started to growl at the wolf but they gave up and dropped the clothes and howled before I heard bones cracking.

I instantly looked at the wolves and saw all of them go from wolf to human, and the humans were my trainers. I fainted for the first time in my whole life, it was too unbelievable.

"So, you trained me for 4 years just for you to tell me that werewolves are real? "

Jerome looked at me and said," I had to prepare you for what was to come."

"For what was to come?" I said with anger. You could have told me 4 years ago, at the beginning. But I guess all of the stories you told me about werewolves were all real then?

"Yes," replied all 3 of them.

I gritted my teeth and said,"What else is there to show now?

"The Pack," said the 3 excitedly.

"The pack?

"Yes, we can finally show them the secret we have been holding."

"What secret?"

"That we have you."

I was surprised but I replied with a grin that meant show me the way. They all cheered, finally being able to tell the secret that they have been keeping from their alpha. Then all of a sudden they told me that I had to become a rogue.

"A rogue?" I looked at them with curiosity.

"The wolf that leaves their pack and lives on their own."

"What?!"

"It's the easiest way to get you accepted into the pack."

I went through all the information that I possessed and thought easiest, and after a few seconds I accepted having to become a rogue.

"But first, how do you shift?"

"They all stopped cheering immediately and all looked at Jerome for the answer."
