31 - Until I Found You

Seungcheol stared at the flight in the night sky. He sighed as he got into his car.

It was when his phone ringed and he picked it up, "Yes, Mr. Kim?"

"Sir, you had a reservation at the farmhouse."

"Oh yeah, I won't be coming Mr. Kim. Don't worry, I'll pay the compensation amount."

"Is everything alright, Mr. Choi?"

"Yeah yeah, an emergency came up. Thank you for your concern."

"It's alright Mr. Choi."

Seungcheol hung up the call and scoffed. He had prepared the best things to make his love confession special but guess what? Today was not the day, probably.

He drove back to his apartment, an empty home. He took a shower, scrolled through his phone for a while and then laid down to sleep. But it was soon when he began to feel extremely anxious.

He woke up while clutching his chest. He looked at the clock, "His flight must be landing soon. I can't sleep anyways, let's wait for his call."

He stood up and walked into the living room. He sat on the sofa when he saw the brand new pocket diary and pen that he had bought for no reason.

It was when an idea struck him.

"So what if I couldn't confess today, I'll definitely make my confession even more special for you." He opened the diary and penned the date, "I'll write everything I'll feel until you come back to me and then gift you this diary on that day with my confession."

He began to write.

First of all, Yoon Jeonghan, I love you.

I've been craving to say this to you since forever. I had planned a lot for us today
but of course, my confession isn't more important than dad's health.

I know you're going to read all of this with the widest smile on your face and
honestly, I'm here for it.

You know, we've been apart due to work a lot of times. But this time I'm too
anxious and restless. Probably because I was too excited to tell those three words to you?

He continued writing that diary, hoping for the day when Jeonghan would be in front of him instead of talking over the calls. He really wanted to hand him that diary.

But unfortunately, those diary entries didn't stop, for whole six years...

"Took you long enough." Seungcheol wiped the tear that escaped his eyes, "Isn't it a coincidence? You confessed to me on the exact day when I failed to reveal my feelings to you. Only the year changed."

Seungcheol closed the diary as he chuckled bitterly, "I used to think I'm very unfortunate but I'm not. Because I've a lover who forgot everything but not my love. I've a lover who fell for me twice. I've a lover who fulfilled his promise even though he didn't remember it."
