Chapter 1

I was waiting for closing time because I knew no one would stop for coffee at almost 10 pm. Just as I was about to close up the cafe, someone walked in. "Hello, welcome to the Uptown Cake Town cafe. How may I help you?" I asked, trying my absolute best not to sound angry. "Hi, can I just get one large caramel latte, please." The mysterious person asked-well said. "Sure and what's the name?" He laughs a bit. "What's so funny?" I asked a bit confused. "I'm the only one here so I don't think you need to ask me for my name." He stated. I felt so dumb asking that question. "Oh ya sorry, I guess I was just working for too long," I said. "I will just go make your latte now" As soon as I said that I ran to the back to make his coffee, not because I wanted to go home, but because of how much of a fool I feel right now.

After I made his coffee I called him over and gave him his drink. "Thank you." He said with the sweetest smile. I didn't realize how long I was staring at him until he shook me to get out of this trance. "Hey, you okay?" "Yeah, I'm fine," I said but I could feel my cheeks getting a little warm. "Are you sure?" Stop looking at me like that, especially with those eyes. "Yeah, I'm sure." "Alright," He said as he handed me a piece of paper. "Here" "What's this?" I ask "Just open it after I leave." "Okay" I take the paper and he walks away but before he leaves he waves and says "Bye...Elizabeth'' I blushed but I still waved back "Bye." So many thoughts were in my head. How is he so cute, will I ever see him again? Wait, how did he know my name?? I was a bit scared about how he knew my name then I realized that I have a name tag.

After I closed the shop I went home and opened the paper that he had given me. I was blushing when I opened it because it had his number and his name on it. I never reacted any quicker. I opened my phone and started to text him.

Hi it's me Elizabeth

Hey, are you home then? It took you a while to text me

Ya I was just closing up the shop

Ok well my name is Chris and I was wondering if you ever want to hangout like not at the cafe

I mean ya I would love that

Alright then want to meet up at the park tomorrow at noon?

Yes I will see you there

Sounds good, bye Elizabeth I'll see you
tomorrow

Name changed to "Chris <3"

After I texted him I could not stop thinking about him. Is it bad that I want to text him again? Anyway, I went out of my room and into the kitchen to get an apple and some water. "Why are you still up? It's past midnight." I hear a dark, scary voice ask me, I turn around and see my brother, twin brother, Jesse. "Nothing much just got back from work and I'm thirsty." Jesse looked at me with his dark creepy eyes, sometimes I question myself if or how we are related. "I know you didn't just come back from work. Your work ends at 10, not 12." Jesse says in a cold tone. "Okay fine I was just in my room because I couldn't sleep. Are you happy?" I said, a little annoyed.

"Very. Now why couldn't you sleep?" He says with a little more excitement in his voice. After he asked, I could feel my cheeks heat up. "Umm n-no reason." I mentally curse at myself for stuttering in front of my twin. "Ya and I have 6 arms." He said and I giggled a bit. "Now tell me why you are up. Did you not  take your pills? Again?" He said stating the obvious. "That and something else is on your mind tell me what is it Liv." I blush hard, how does he know everything?!? "Fine I was just texting a friend and he wants to meet up tomorrow." I said "Who?" Jesse asks. Oh ya I forgot to mention Jesse can get really overprotective sometimes. "Just a friend." "Who? It can't be Iz because you said he and you don't have any guy friends." I sigh and roll my eyes. "Fine, his name is Chris." "Wait Chris Bahng?" "I don't know his last name. Wait, do you know him?" I asked. "Yes, he's my friend from school. How did you meet him?" Jesse asked in a not so cold and mean tone. "I met him at the cafe when it was about closing time." I said and I see Jesse take out his phone and call someone. "Who are you calling?"I asked curiously, "Kit." He said in a calm voice. "And who is that?" I ask because I don't know. But he doesn't respond because he's talking on the phone to this "Kit" person. After a bit of listening to Jesse talk on the phone he finally says "He's coming."

"Who?" I ask, a little scared of who is coming to my-well our apartment. Who could be coming here? And this late too? Should I be sacred? No I shouldn't because Jesse knows him, right? I get out of my thoughts when I hear a knock on the door, Jesse goes to open it while I'm not sure what to feel. "Hey Chris. Thanks for coming." "Ya of course. I mean well you kind of called me to come over." I heard the other person say. And the laugh...where did I hear that laugh before?...could it be...Chris?... Just then the person entered the apartment and I could not believe who I saw "Elizabeth?!" "Chris?!" He hugs me and I can feel my cheeks heat up. I see Jesse smirking at me, I glare at him. Chris breaks the hug and I feel a little sad because his hugs feel so warm and safe. "So Jesse, you said that you needed some tutoring?" He asked, "Well...about that...I lied." I can tell that Chris got a little angry. "So is this who you were on the phone with? Also why is he here and this late?" I asked and looked at Jesse. "I just asked him for some tutoring like he said." "Ya right come here I want to talk to you in private." I say, Jesse nods and follows me to my bedroom. "I know you're lying, what is the real reason you brought him here?" I ask him. "Fine. I can tell you like him. So that's why I brought him over because maybe you can stop being so shy and tell him more about yourself." I blush a bit. "So what if I like him? Plus I've only met him today. He probably doesn't even like me." I tell him. "Whatever" He says and rolls his eyes. "Now let's go back to Kit." "Okay" I say and follow him back to the living room.

"Hey what were you guys talking about?" I slightly blush remembering what Jesse had said to me earlier. "Uh nothing" I say and Jesse gives me a really look. "Ya right Liv." "Liv? Is that a nickname?" Chris asks. "Yes but only Jesse can call me that." I respond. "Oh why? Are you guys together?" Chris says, sounding a little sad towards the end, "No, I'm her twin." "Oh okay that makes sense." "Why jealous?" Chris goes silent. "That's what I thought. So do you guys want to watch a horror movie?" Jesse asks while smirking at me knowing that I hate horror movies. "Sure why not I mean as long as Eli is fine with it." I slightly blush "Yeah I'm fine with it." I say forcing a small smile because I know that I will get really scared. "Okay then let's go." We both nod and go sit down while Jesse puts on a horror movie called the countdown. I hate this movie so much. It scares me the most. Out of all movies why this one? "Shoot, let me go get some popcorn, I'll be back." Jesse says and walks away to the kitchen. A jump scare scene comes up and I parcelly scream and cling onto Chris, holding his arm a little tight.
