Why was it I
That was engulfed by the fear
The fear of failing
The fear of regret
The fear of being
Forever in debt
In debt to my friends
For the scary life that I chose
To all those close
For the fear I impose
The endless screams
The endless fear
The endless feeling
Wishing you could disappear
Walking down this path
Walking through this life
Walking into the blackness
Where there never is light
As my heart is heavy
As my heart is weak
Burdened by the scars
The hope I hopelessly seek
The hope is not there
The hope is long gone
The hope that I longed for
Has forever passed on
I try and I try
To right all my wrongs
To make things better
But I keep playing along
