Now-Charlie
She kisses me back before backing up.
"Is everything okay?" I ask her.
The light which lit her eyes a second before disappeared.
"We can't do this, Charlie", she replies.
"Why not?"
She sighs:
"Lara will..."
"I don't care about Lara, Addison", I interrupt her.
"I don't care about what she thinks is good for her. All I know is I can't ignore this feeling."
She looks up at me:
"What are you talking about Charlie?"
I step closer.
"I'm talking about what I feel for you, Addison. I'm talking about all the nights I didn't sleep because I was thinking of you, I'm talking about how worried I was when I saw you walk out that door ready to cry. I'm speaking about a thing I didn't know before and still don't. I... I am in love with you, Addison."
Oh, God. I wasn't supposed to say that.
She looks at me right in the eyes.
Rain starts to fall but we don't move.
"I shouldn't have said that", I reply as I turn around.
So, this would end like this? I told her and she just looks at me leaving?
"Wait", she says as she follows me and puts her hand on my shoulder.
My heart speeded as I turn around to face her.
Charlie, stop! She doesn't like you, stop daydreaming about something that is impossible!
"I'm sorry, I say. I mustn't have said this. Just forget it, all right? I didn't m-"
She shut my mouth by pressing her lips against mine.
She puts her arms around my neck and looks at me between two kisses.
"What was that for?" I silently laugh.
She looks down, then back to my eyes:
"For the declaration of love", she murmurs.
"And this one", she says before kissing me another time, "is to say what you just said to me without words because you have surely noticed it, I'm not that good with words."
Her lips draw in a smile:
"I love you, Charlie", she continues.
Oh, these words sound like a sweet melody when they come from her. I can't help but smiling, smiling so much it hurts.
"I love you too, MaCauley", I answer under my breath.
I don't want to close my eyes, afraid that this is just a dream. I don't want to wake up from this one, I want this dream to last FOREVER.
We stay like that a long moment. Rain continues pouring and we are soaked but I kind of forget the rain as we stare at each other without a word.
"Come with me", I say as I take her hand in mine.
We run to my car.
I open the passenger door for her to enter.
"I can't, she says. I...I just remember I have to go home."
"No problem. I'll drive you."
"You can't", she replies
"Because before I have to...do something in school. I have a..."
