°Unexpected Start°

*Beep Beep Beep*

A hand came out under the bedsheets and an annoyed groan can be heard from a black haired man , struggling to turn off the alarm .

Kim Dokja's pov:

I woke up from the sound of my alarm and sat up trying to stretch. I started searching for my phone under my pillow covers .
"Found it !"
I checked the time '6:30 a.m.'.
"I still have quiet a lot time for my duty " I sighed .
Then I springed out from my bed and followed my normal routine .
I quickly prepared omelette and a cup of coffee for breakfast .
Just as I was about to settle down to eat suddenly a call came .

I picked up the call and answered it .
"Officer Dokja , a new case has been came up . You have to hurriedly come to the office". A female voice was heard at end of the call and I know who it was .
It was head officer Han sooyoung.
"Yes ma'am, I will come as soon as possible " I assured her that I won't be late this time .
"Okay , be quick . There is also something I wanted to tell you . Meet me at my office . " she said .
"Yes ma'am " I said , turning off my phone .

I rested my back on chair and wondered what she wanted to tell me? Did she found out that I broke her vase or did she knew that I was the one who spilled coffee on her laptop . No it can't be , I cleaned off all evidences of those though . Wait, didn't she told me that she wanted to talk about something , right ?

"Never mind" I started getting ready for my work and locked my house . I looked up the sky, saw it's gorgeous blue colour and fading white line of clouds . But I don't have time to lazily stare at it as I have work today . I heavily sighed "Another day living in hell" , I thought to myself .

I went in my car and drove off to my headquarter .

*Time Skip*

At Headquarters

(*Third person pov*)

Kim dokja went inside the big shinning building , walking confidently but lazily . He took an elevator to third floor and waited patiently for doors to close . He unlocked his phone and started scrolling and just as the doors were about to close , he heard someone shouting .

Kim dokja pov:

I went into elevator and pressed the button for third floor and started scrolling on my phone . Then heard someone shouting "Please wait for me !". I glanced upwards and saw a honey blonde hair coloured lady waving at me and I immediately recognised her.

She's Yoo Sangah, my co-worker and my friend . I waved at her and waited for her to get on the elevator. "Gosh, that was a close call!" she said trying to regain her breath. "Thank you, dokja-ssi" I smiled and nodded at her .

Me and Yoo Sangah joined the department at the same time but she was always one step ahead every time. I must say I admire her for her intelligence in solving cases . She's a very nice woman and often helped me in difficult times.

"Dokja-ssi you are very early today , aren't you?" She said ."No, it's not like that , I just woke up early " I said trying to divert my eyes at the corner, feeling guilty . "Well that's a good progress, dokja-ssi. " she exclaimed happily. "Yeah , I guess a good change perhaps?" I chuckled awkwardly.

Just as I was about ask her something, I was interrupted by the opening of elevator doors. "Guess we reached the third floor " she said moving out of the elevator. "Yeah" I said following her .

(Third Person pov)

Both kim dokja and Yoo Sangah started walking down the hallway chatting to each other, until they reached the meeting room. Kim dokja opened the door and was greeted by his other fellow co-workers.

At Meeting Room

I opened the door of meeting room and saw Lee jihye in front.
"Wow , you really came early this time !" She said mockingly . I just rolled my eyes and sighed .
"You shouldn't say like that " a man's voice was heard from behind . He patted my shoulder ."Good Morning, dokja-ssi " he said calmly . "Good morning, Lee hyunsung " I said facing him with a smile . Sangah also greeted him and they started chatting with each other . Lee jihye also joined them .
Meanwhile , I'm just sitting on chair and scrolling down on my phone reading some important headlines .
(Kind of feeling like an old man)

*Time Skip*

(Third Person pov)

While all the members were chatting to each other. The door flinged opened and everyone turned their eyes over there , revealing Head officer Han sooyoung.

*FLASHBACK*

Han sooyoung pov:

I just recently came back from my office checking all the documents on the recent cases . "*Sigh* Who would have thought that this case is actually this deep ". I glanced upwards from the documents in my hands and looked at the lady in front of me . "I will do my best to solve this case , please be patient with us ma'am " . The lady just nodded and left the room .

I rested back and thought "We seriously need more manpower in this case . I need to call all efficient officers in this mission" .

*BACK TO THE PRESENT*

Kim dokja pov:

Miss Han sooyoung just entered the meeting room with some documents in her hand . She looked at me and then faced others . That gave me chills . I must have messed up somewhere .

We all sat on our respective chairs and waited for her to start the meeting .

"You all know why you have been gathered here , right ? " said as she addresses us . "Today a new case has come up . Some of you has even worked on it . This case was titled solved two years back " she paused as she glanced at her documents "Are you talking about the case in which a lady and her kid went missing ?" Yoo Sangah asked in a serious tone . As expected of her , she recognised the case immediately. This was her first case if I remember correctly.

"Yes, indeed. Two years back a group of officers started looking for suspects and tried to find the missing persons . They did find the lady but she was heavily beaten up and sexual assaulted . They were able to rescue her and immediately caught all the three culprits but his son was found dead and the sole victim was given justice . Atlast the case was closed"

"So is there anything left in the case?" Lee jihye asked . "I just got another evidence that this case is too deep than it looks like . The head's have told me to assemble a group and dig the truth out ". "What do you mean that there's still left something we don't know?" Lee hyunsung asked ."There is " Han sooyoung replied back .
