Micheal's POV...

That day finally arrived. The war.The troops set up camp in a large grassy field, our backs turned to the dark, eerie forest on the field's edge.Dominic walked up to me and we stood on a large rock in the field,in silence.

I turned to him but quickly turned away, not sure what to say."Micheal?"

I turn to him again.

"Do you think we'll win?"He turned to me and I could see a hint of worry in those dark purple eyes of him.

I sighed"We'll be fine.I promise"I smiled and placed a hand on his shoulder. He smiled and placed him hand over mine and squeezed tightly.

Later, that night,I was settling into my sleeping bag when I hear a loud crash outside my tent.I got up and grabbed my sword, unsheathing it and creeping outside.I walked around till I found myself outside the camp, staring at Dominic as he summoned something.

The glowing, purple magic circle underneath him seemed....oddly,dark.Then the light faded and a little small black lump appeared in the grass.

"What on the elemental spirits is that?"I said a little louder than I intended to and Dominic jump in fear and fall to the ground, landing on his butt.

He scowled at me and got up."What are you doing outside this late at night?"

I raised a brow."What are you doing this late at night?"

He sighed and shook his head, picking up the lump.It moved and uncurled itself to reveal a large black snake with purple accents.I screamed and backed away,Dominic frowned at me and told me to shut up.

I watched-from a safe distance-as Dominic released the snake into the field towards where I presumed the enemy camp would be in.He turned to me and crossed his arms.

"What are you doing here?"He seemed mad and....uneasy?

"I heard a loud crash and thought  we were being attacked"

He shook his head and ran a hand through his hair."It's fine"

I decided not to ask him about the snake and stuff and we both walked back to camp.
