Story idea #11

-Basically a story where the MC THINKS they're living a normal life, with friends who are supportive and protective and family who are very loving and kind. But this all changes when suddenly they saw or witnessed one of their friends display some magical ability and fight off someone who tried to kinda kill them

-And like, it was all cool. Until they suddenly feel like they're about to fucking throw up because there's memories flooding in their head and like, this causes a mental breakdown and all. But then said magical friend goes up to them and suddenly wipes their memory away (Maybe while comforting them and all, idk some bitter irony inserted in there XD)

-MC wakes up the next day, feeling like absolute shit and like they drank a whole bar. But they brush it off thinking they just blacked out drunk and their friends brought them home and stuff

-Everytime MC witnesses or like sees their friends 'Magical ability'. Said friends wipe MCs memories in order to protect them. Like, this could be some eldritch horror stuff y'know where like a group of God's or goddesses or creatures grew fond of the MC and decided to befriend them via human means since they treasure MC and all.

-Problem with powerful beings treasuring a human is that said human is bound to become a very valuable blackmail material. So what do these powerful eldritch beings do? Idk, wipe said humans memories to preserve that little world they had constructed for the human.

-So yeah. MC is loved and cherished by (mildly terrifying) powerful beings who then created a world for the MC to live in and kinda just, vibe with the human forms of these beings.

-So everything goes well right? Well uh-

-MC kinda figures out that soemthis is very much fucking wrong here. Because no way in hell do these weird memory gaps and depressive episode come out of nowhere am I right?

-And so like, MC kinda realised that their friends aren't fucking human. And they know that they will do something to prevent them from remembering. So MC starts to leave notes, entries in journals, hints, coded messages, etc. for future them to find and stuff

-We would later find out that this strategy has been used twice. Once and it ended with the MC slowly descending into madness and eventually killed themselves to escape the beings that are their friends (Wow, obviously the beings won't fucking allow this and they of course became more strict with their monitoring. Also they DEFINITELY versed themselves to study human minds more)

-The second time ended with the MC almost, ALMOST killing themselves again if not for the fact that one of those beings kinda forced the MCs mind to bend to their will and just, idk, plucked that rebellious part of MC away from them. Essentially making their progress go back to 0

-This is the third time the strategy will be used. Idk how it could end. But this definitely has some horror elements in it.

-The real forms of these beings are, of, terrifying AF. And MC has been driven to suicide once when the accidentally saw their forms. So yeah. Eldritch FUCKING horror man.
