Alone, Rei woke up after the hard fall. He brushed his head, thankfully no severe injuries other than the pain.

The boy was still on the ground, puzzled by his unfamiliar surroundings. But he then froze in surprise.

Rei spotted a floating lavender creature, resembling a dewdrop, in front of him, and it spoke to him with a language he understood.

"Darling~" The creature chimed.

He briefly considered screaming for help but worried it might overjoy the creature because of the excitement in its eyes.

The creature spoke again, expressing its happiness about finally meeting Rei, "I've been waiting for a very, very, very long time to meet you, Darling~."

It moved closer, and he instinctively stepped back, hitting his back against a tree, "S-Stop right there!" Rei shuttered his words as he tried to think a way out.

The creature puffed its cheeks and said, "How rude, Darling!"

"I have been longing for you and this is what you do to me."

"I-It's not..." Rei stammered nervously, keeping his distance, "I just want to know... what are you?"

"I'm Moonmon, you beloved companion," the creature replied with a proud smile.

"Beloved...?"

Seeming calmed, Rei noticed he was alone other than Moonmon. He wanted to know about his friends, especially Akio and Chihiro.

"Umm... Moonmon-san, have you seen a little boy with orange hair?" He asked.

"A boy?" Moonmon tilted its whole body, almost like it was thinking.

"No, haven't seen one." It replied.

"A little girl?"

"Nope."

"I see..." Rei began thinking as he worried about the two children. He then glanced at Moonmon, who was gazing at him with pleading eyes, like a kid waiting to be praised for doing a good job.

He couldn't help but feel uncomfortable with its eyes, even though it made him uneasy. Rei finally sighed and accepted the situation.

"There's not a lot of things I could do on my own right now... So, I'll be in you're care, Moonmon," Rei said with a usual kind smile.

"Right!" It nodded in delight.

The creature's cheerful grin had melted his heart. "Let's work together, Moonmon." Rei brushed her cheek.

"D–Don't come near me!"

Just then, Rei heard familiar yet unfamiliar screaming not far from him, "Sora-chan?!"
