CHAPTER 08 - FRESH START
Song - When you know, you know
by Lana Del Rey
~~TARA~~

I had just gotten home after the nice talk with the driver, guy who has felt life in its best way. I was feeling joyful although the last talk with Nico didn't go well. I kinda expected him to fight back to what I said but no. Even expected him to at least text me an apology but no. Whatever, I thought. Everything happens for the best, no?

I saw Liam and Stella sitting together in the living room. Something they do normally. They love coming to my house, especially because of my mom. She loves them around. It gives the place a wholesome feel since dad's not around.

I scanned around for my mom but she couldn't be found. "Hi! I'm back." I said dropping my bag near the table. I dropped myself onto the sofa next to Stella, who was probably surprised to see me back so soon.

"How'd it go? And by the way I told Liam everything." she said.

"Well... It didn't go too bad but..." I continued with everything and when I got to the phone call part, both their mouths opened in surprise. I really loved how they react to stuff like this.

"Yea. That's basically it." I said. They still had their mouths open. I laughed at them.

As they both came back to reality, Liam ran his hands through his hair, and said "Whoa. I never though Nico would do that. I mean I did, but not to you. Asshole."

"For real." Estella added in. "I hate his ass so much. I don't care. I hope he got hit by a truck on his way home."

I glared at her and said "Shush. That's too mean." Stella had a way of getting a bit carried away. But right now I can't blame her. I kinda wish he does get hit.

Just then my mom comes out of the room. "Tara I have something to tell you. Good news. You'll love it."

"Okay..." I replied.

"So... Since you got accepted into Hanses and would eventually be moving to America, I decided we should fly in early to meet some of your old friends and stuff you know. I mean you grew up there anyways. So why not go check out all your childhood favourites just before starting college. It can be a way of getting used to the place. What do you think?" she told me. She had a hopeful look in her eyes and I was totally going.

I screamed "Yesss!", jumping up and down. I hugged my mom super tight. There was still about two or three months before the start of college. But I was already so excited. It would be very nice to meet my friends again. My friends. I wondered what they look like now. Alec and Luca. Do they even remember me? They didn't even send letters to me. Or call. I bet they forgot about me.

Stella ran to me and gave me a tight hug. "You need to take us with you." she said looking straight into my eyes. It would be a great idea. And these to aren't even thinking about joining a college. They've been dreaming about their band since the week before graduation. They made all the plans and everything too. Nashville is a nice place for that.

"Yea. That's a great idea. Right, mom?" I asked my mom.

"Of course, We have plenty of space for all of us in the old house." My mom said smiling.

My old house was big. A huge mansion. I started telling Stella and Liam about the house. "MY favourite part is the pool outside, There is also a picnic spot at the backyard. My parents have dinners there sometimes. They don't like going out for dinners. Plus my dad's a great cook. I mean was... Oh and uhm next to my house there is this bakery and they have the best waffles. That was the last meal I had from Nashville before I came here. And there is this park a few blocks away. My friends Luca and Alec love going there with me. We made many memories there. I wonder what it's like now." I continued. "I think I remember a music studio near the park. You guys might get a chance you know."

We made all the plans on what we'll do and where we'll explore. I felt psyched. I can't wait.

~~ A few months later~~

"Mom hurry! They'll be here any minute now." I screamed towards her room where she was packing up the last of her clothes in the bag.

After two months of craziness with Stella and Liam in the clubs and beach we were finally leaving to go to Nashville. After much anticipation I got the opportunity to go to my birth country after 6 years. Words can't even explain what i was feeling right now. I had no idea where the sudden adrenaline rush came up from. But I felt super hyper. Like a kid who had just gotten their favourite lollipop.

Liam and Stella were coming to pick us up to go to the airport. We decided to go not too early but almost just in time for check-in. But I felt like we were already late. I jumped at the sound of a car honk. "Come on, Ladies" I heard Liam call out getting out of his Sedan. I pointed at my bags. I made extra extra sure to pack light because I didn't want to carry much useless stuff.

"Respectfully Tara, I am not your porter." he said emphasising the 'not'. Which made me roll my eyes at him. I Knew he would help anyways. I went into my moms room to get her luggage. She had filled up 3 whole suitcases and a handbag. I kept reminding her not to pack so much.

I took the smaller suitcases leaving the bigger one for Liam. We stuffed the luggage in the trunk. And got in the car to leave. "Ok ladies, We gotta make a quick stop at the gas station because I don't think we can reach the airport with just this much."

We proceeded our ride. And Stella asked my mom "What are you doing with this house, Ms. Williams?"

"I'm thinking about putting it on sale." she replied. I never thought we would ever sell the house.

"I thought we were keeping it as it is for vacations. Like a summer house." I questioned.

"Well, I was planning for that too. But I don't think just the money your dad left would be enough for your studies." she explained.

"Mom. The money dad left for us is more than enough. Plus I'll be doing a part time job while studying. Didn't we also say that you'd come back after I settle down. You said you were going to continue writing right?"

Mom had stopped writing after dad had died. She said she didn't feel like it. But she's gradually convinced herself that she can't just live the rest of her life doing nothing and expecting everything from me. So she said she would presume her writing career and publish a novel.

"I might rethink that decision." she said, a wary expression on her face.

"No mom. Wasn't this your dream. And when you finally have the hope, your giving up. No. You should at least try." I tried to convince her.

She replied with a nod. I wasn't fully convinced but happy with the fact she had at least agreed. We arrived at the gas station filled up the tank and rode to the airport.

We got there just in time for check in. We handed the luggage got the tickets and waited for the boarding call. Me and mom had close seats but Liam and Stella would be sitting a bit far from us but together.

We heard the boarding call after a what felt like hours. We hurried went to the gate and after showing our boarding pass we got on our flight. We were directed to our seats and soon after we started our journey.

I felt excited for the thing awaiting me in Nashville. Old memories flood through my brain as i drifted into sleep.

I'm looking forward to a fresh start...
