𝔗he atmosphere inside the stadium was electric, anticipation crackling in the air as we made our way to our seats. Ron's voice echoed my own thoughts as we climbed higher and higher.
"Blimey, Dad, how far up ARE we?" he exclaimed, his incredulity evident in his tone.
"Well put it this way, if it rains, you'll be the first to know," a man remarked, his voice dripping with condescension as he glanced upwards at our lofty perch. I'd looked down. It was Draco and his father. I smiled.
"Draco!" I exclaimed kneeling to see him better.
"Aurelia! Come down here!" he prompted, holding his hands up as if he were to catch me. I looked back at Mr. Weasly and he'd nodded. I latched onto the edge and jumped down, Draco catching my waist. He didn't put me down but hugged me tightly, his breath running down my neck.
He'd finally settle me down. "You've grown taller!" I say as I run my fingers through his tousled blonde hair. He wore a black suit that had brought out his eyes and I suddenly felt underdressed.
Draco chuckled, his hands trailing down my waist to my hips to my ass as he studied me with a hint of admiration. "You've... also grown," he remarked, his gaze lingering on me.
"It's nice to see you again, Aurelia," Lucius nodded with a smile.
"And you too, Mr. Malfoy," I nod back.
"Lucius, please," he insisted, "I've known you far too long for formalities."
"Of course, Lucius."
Draco looked up to Harry and chimed in proudly, "Father and I are in the minister's box, by personal invitation of Cornelius Fudge himself." I lightly swatted his chest, rolling my eyes.
Lucius quickly added, "Don't boast, Draco. There's no need with these people."
I laugh and Draco retaliated with a playful shove of my shoulder.
"Do you want to sit with us, Aurelia?" Lucius asks me.
"Um," I look up at Mr. Weasly. He nodded reluctantly. I smile. "Yes, thank you."
"Of course," Harry rolled his eyes and I'd sigh.
"You just have to spoil everything, don't you," I spat at him.
They began walking away before Lucias gripped Harry's foot with his walker. "Do enjoy yourself, won't you? While you can."
I look at Draco, eyes furrowed confused and he'd shrug.
"Well, this way," Lucius instructed.
With a charming smile, Draco gently took my hand, placing my hand on his arm, holding onto it with a subtle warmth and I smiled. "How was your summer?" he asked.
"Dreadful. Harry spent most of his time at Ron's and I'd only go into the city for groceries," I complained and turned to him. "I think the only good bit was getting letters from you and Pansy. You're the only one who wrote. Of course, Pansy was only interested in what she had to say, but still," I laughed.
He smiled. "I just wish I could have wished you a happy birthday in person."
I looked down at my feet hiding my smile. "The letter was more than enough," I replied, my fingers playing with his suit jacket. "Not even Harry wished me a happy birthday. He'd left the night before to go to Ron's to celebrate."
We'd reached the minister's box and my eyes opened in surprise. There were foods beyond my imagination. I looked at Draco and he smiled.
"Merlin's beard, do I smell butterbeer?" I asked eagerly.
Draco led me to the snack table. "Two hot butterbeers and some pumpkin pasties," he directed to the worker. He'd hand him some coins and then handed me the butterbeer. He led me to his father where he sat at a table with some workers I'd recognize who worked at the ministry. He sat down the pumpkin pasties and his drink and made room for me in his seat, seeing as the table was full.
I'd sat down, my face inches from his. "My summer was just as boring as yours. Nothing spectacular."
"Oh, no, of course. You poor thing, having to sit in your mansion with endless fun," I rolled my eyes playfully, taking a sip from my butterbeer.
He laughed and wiped the top of my lip with his thumb. "You just might be right. I suppose–"
Before he'd finish, five green and white figures flew through the air on their brooms leaving a sparkly green trail behind them. Then, a firework, and a dancing leprechaun appeared. The crowd screamed. "The Irish!" I exclaimed getting up from the table and to the rails which had a protective glass-seeming screen behind it.
Draco came up from behind me as red figures came through the leprechaun. I'd immediately seen Viktor Krum, who was doing flips in the air. "And the Bulgarians," Draco said as he put his arm around my waist. I'd smile at him brightly to which he'd say, "So, let the game begin."
