Zara

Where…where am I…?  I opened my eyes to see total darkness.  Even my vampire eyes had trouble seeing my surroundings.

“Ahhh… She awakens.” I flinched at the sound of Shinji’s voice.

“Go away.” I mumbled incoherently.

“But why on Earth would I abandon something I want?”

I sat up slowly, feeling dizzy from the aftermath of whatever drug he used on me earlier.  “Where did you take me?”

My vision slowly became more accurate and I could see the outline of his body sitting on a chair.  I was… on a bed?  I was also aware that I was in different clothes– a medium length dark blue dress decorated with intricate silver designs.

I could almost see Shinji grin. “You know very well that I will not answer that question, Zara.”

“What…?  Are you afraid that I’ll try to escape?”

He grinned wider. “For the sake of your pride you won’t run away.”

“Tch…” I refrained from saying a few choice words to him.  I looked down at the dress again. “How did I get into this dress?”

“Nani?” He pretended not to hear me.

I hissed. “Don’t play dumb with me!  How did I get into this dress?!

“Oh, please.  I would never stoop so low as to violate a woman– especially when they are unconscious.  I’m a vampire, Zara, I think I could get you in and out of some clothes without looking.”

The tone of his voice told me that he was telling the truth, but I acted as if I hardly believed him.  “You’re lucky that I believe you.” I growled.

“Am I, now?” His voice became sarcastic.  He leaned over the edge of the bed until his face was right in front of mine. “And why is that?”

I had to suppress a shiver from him being so close. “Because if any man were to violate me in any way, I would kill them, and their death would be slow and painful.”

“Do you really believe that you could kill me, Zara?” He leaned in closer until I had no room to shift away from him.

“Is that relevant, Shinji?” I breathed out the words slowly, trying to sound calm.

“Is it?” He repeated my question.

He brought his head to my neck and licked it for no more than a second.  The action left me shaking, my careful composure completely gone.

“Don’t do it.” I warned.

“Why shouldn’t I?  I want to do it… I’ve been yearning for your blood for so long, Zara…  And my throat… it’s on fire… only your blood will extinguish the flames…” An odd feeling crawled up my spine as he spoke. “I’ll make sure you enjoy it.”

“No…” I protested weakly.  His touch did things to me that I did not want to experience.  He licked my neck again, and his teeth scraped my neck like they had on the rooftop…  I gasped out loud. “Please… stop it…”
