A/N: Okay... so I lied about putting up this chapter by the 4th... Sorry everyone... Anyway... If you really want to know why Ch. 14 and 15 were not posted at the date I said they would, it is because my mother is getting very sick, all because of an extremely stressful situation at her job... hence the reason this chapter will be dedicated to her. I do hope she gets better, otherwise I might put my story on hold for a while, and I'm sure that my readers would not like that very much.
Anyway enough of my babbling; Read, Comment, and Vote.... please
Oh and I forgot to add: Enjoy!!
******PS: THIS CHAPTER IS A DOUBLE UPLOAD---- I UPLOADED CH. 15 TOO!!!!!!!!!!!*******

Zara
“Ryu? Are you zoning out?” I asked– he had fallen silent for a long time.
“Nani?” he asked, seeming as if his mind was focused somewhere else.
“Ryu… Earth to Ryu?”
“What– sorry Zara,” he apologized once he snapped out of his trance. “I was just thinking about something.”
“Iie, it’s fine.” I looked at him in the eyes, trying to hide my concern for him.
Apparently my attempt failed.
“Zara, you don’t have to be worried about me. You should be more concerned about your own well-being.”
“But Ryu–”
“Hush now,” he spoke gently.
He took a small step toward me, but I took one step back. We were in the same room as before– the room that Ryu had broken the door down to get into to save me from the ‘manipulated’ Shinji– and there was plenty of room to move around.
“Zara, you don’t–”
“I am not a child, Ryu,” I cut him off. He had been about to say something along the lines of: ‘you don’t have to be afraid of me.’
“I know that, Zara, but–”
“Apparently, you don’t know,” I cut him off again. “Or you do know and you simply can’t admit it to your pathetic self. Don’t tell me to ‘hush now’ or tell me that I don’t have to be afraid in a tone that makes me feel like I’m an infant. And I am not a doll made out of porcelain, okay? You don’t have to protect me like I’m one of those girls who can’t even throw a punch. And telling me I should only be concerned about my own well-being?! Ryu, there are other people that I need to protect!”
“You don’t think I know how you feel?” He did not raise his voice at all. In contrast, he lowered his voice to a dangerous level.
I cringed at the tone of his voice, taking another step away from him. I put up an invisible veil of protection, not knowing what Ryu would do next. “No,” I replied calmly, even though I was terrified inside– not of Ryu, but of the emotions I was feeling. “I don’t think you know anything.”
He growled as he came closer to me. Once again he growled when he met my invisible barrier. “You have forgotten, Zara. While you have defensive powers, I have offensive powers, and because I am just slightly stronger than you, I can break your barriers easily.”
