A/N: Okay, I think I deserve a round of applause: two chapters within two days.  Just kidding.  I posted the last chapter later than I promised-- even though it was because of technology issues, I felt guilty-- so I decided to get this chapter done early.  Brought a few surprises into this chapter, and I hope you all enjoy.  Don't forget your bag of popcorn, because the show is about to begin!

***WARNING: There a few offensive words in this chapter, and I sincerely apologize if it offends anyone. (And I do not recommend you repeating the words to anyone; it is very disrespectful)  There is also a bit of a mushy romantic part, so if it bothers you, I'm sorry.

 Zara

“Who is Hazuki?” I repeated.  I had a strange feeling, like I should know who she was– I remembered hearing the name somewhere…

“An old friend…” Shinji murmured.

I reached into my pocket… and pulled out some sarcasm. “Oh my goodness!  You have friends?”

“Shizukani.” He snapped.

“Jerk…” I muttered.

“I heard that.” He hissed.

“You were supposed to hear it, you baka.”      (A/N: baka = idiot)

He was silent for a while. “Whatever.  The less you know, the better off you are.”

“Douiu imi?” As if I wasn’t confused enough already.   (A/N: douiu imi? = what do you mean?)

“Never mind…” He trailed off, but then he met my eyes, and I knew he was about to ask a question. “What were you doing in my library, Zara?”

“Hmm… I don’t know… maybe it had something to do with the fact that I was trying to get the hell away from you?”

“Did I forget to tell you that you can never get away from me, Zara?  Because I’m pretty sure that I already told you.” He growled.

“Shizukani, ketsunoana.  You talk too much– and you’re always so overconfident of your good- for- nothing abilities.”  (A/N: ketsunoana = a very impolite term that means asshole)

Okay, so calling him an asshole in Japanese, probably wasn’t one of my brightest ideas.  He pinned my arms above my head and brought his teeth to my neck.

“What was that?  I couldn’t quite hear you.” He hissed.

I froze.  I didn’t want to feel his bite, but I wasn’t going to back down from him– I wasn’t going to let him think he was stronger than me. “Did I stutter?” I snapped at him. “I called you an asshole.”

He growled, and prepared to sink his teeth into my neck.  I closed my eyes and braced myself, but the bite never came.  Someone threw Shinji off of me and pulled me to my feet.  I looked up at a person who I never thought I would see.

My brother was standing before me.

Lexa

“Ryu!  You have to do it!  It will help us get to Zara.” I urged him to trespass into Shinji’s mind.

“Lexa…” He complained.

“I can sense it, Ryu.  They are not that far away from our location.  Even if Shinji does notice when you enter his mind, he cannot get far before we find him.”
