Keia looks into the destroyed room. Objects lie burned in ash all around save for the corner where the clone Rayla was holding Rico. The real Rayla was passed out in the ground next to Ricardo. A black flamelike aura passes between them every now and again.
She steps into the room. "What did you do to my brothers Cayla!?"
"Cayla?" The clone says confused.
"Clone Rayla." Keia says rolling her eyes.
Cayla shrugs before setting down Rico. "Relax. Both your brothers are fine."
"Define fine."
"You turned them." Says Nette entering the room with an angry expression. Cayla sees the fury in her eyes and raises her hands to placate her. "
"Not both of them. Just him." She says nodding her head at Ricardo.
"That sposed to make me calm?"
"It was necessary." Cayla explains the plain to Keia and Nette. This done nothing to dim the mother's fury.
"I should kill you. You know the punishment for harming a witches coven!"
"You know as well as I do that killing me will take Ricardo with me."
"There are ways to break a sire bond bitch. You underestimate my magic."
"That'll just make him a target again. Whatever you may think of me, HE is much worse:"
Nette contemplates her words for a while before crossing her arms. "Very well. You get to live, for now."
Keia saw Cayla release a breath and looks at her mother in awe. Just how powerful was she?
"Uh scuse me. Big sis Keia. Can I come out now?"
"Oh shit. Come on out." Keia says quickly.
"Is that...." Says Cayla.
The smell of sulfur permeates through the air as a tiny girl flies onto Keia's shoulder. "Phew. It was warm in there." She dusts lint off her dress and does a twirl. Suddenly she gasps and flies down to Ricardo. Little hands gently smack his cheek.
"Ricardo? Why you sleeping?" She plucks Rayla on her nose. "Wake up guys. Everybody's waiting."
"Let em sleep Fae." Says Cayla. Fae flutters over to Cayla with a confused tilt of her head. She squeezes her nose.
"Are....are you Rayla's twin?" Fae says excited.
"I...no. I'm a clone."
"You can make two of yourself and you never told me?!"
"Fae. you didn't tell me you could turn human sized till three weeks ago."
"You can turn human sized? Hello?!" Yells Keia throwing her hands in the air.
Fae sticks her tongue out. "Snitch."
"Sorry Fae."
Fae flies over to Keia. "Keia, buddy. Pal." Fae says trying to convince her to let her still ride in her pocket while Cayla throws Rayla and Ricardo over her shoulder.
"Let's go." She says as Keia sighs and stuffs Fae back in her pocket.
"When will Rico wake up?"
"About an hour." Says Cayla not missing a beat as she steps out of the house.
Nette holds up her hands and bright trace of magic follows her fingertips. Rico lifts into the air. They leave the safehouse and pile in the car. Cayla and Nette upfront while Keia sits in the back with her slumbering brothers and Rayla
