Brave
Chapter II
Something small nudged her from her nap. She yawned and stretched up a bit, before taking a glance at a girl with shoulder-length blonde hair, who was sitting right next to her. She had ocean-blue eyes, an exact replica of her father's. The girls tiny pink lips quirked up in a sweet smile.
"Mommy, aren't we there yet?"
"Almost there baby, but we have to get on a train after we get off the ship," she replied with a smile.
She tucked the young girl's hair behind her ear. Sarah looked exactly like her, except for their eye color. They share the same locks, same upturned nose and thin pout lips. The four-year old clutched on to her stuffed dino tighter as she noticed her mother looking intently at her.
Their motherly moment was interrupted by people hovering towards the exit of the cruise ship. She gathered her black Jansport backpack and their two big luggages as she maneuvered Sarah to get up and follow her out of the ship. She let her daughter walk in front of her, afraid she might lose her out of sight..
"Mommy, look! A dino!" Sarah squealed with delight as she saw a store packed with stuffed toys.
She laughed and stroked her daughter's hair. "I know. We'll get to see those later. First, we just have to meet with Mommy's boss. Is that okay with you, darling?"
"Mmmkay..." then she busied herself talking to her stuffed toy.
Right on that moment, her cellphone rang. She took it out of her acid-washed shorts and answered the call.
"Dr. Samantha Blundell speaking."
"Good morning, Dr. Blundell. This is Claire Dearing, Operation Manager of Jurassic World. You are expected to meet me here at the Control Room of the park. Where are you exactly?" the person on the other line said.
She could tell by the sound of her voice that she was all business. She could picture a stiff-looking woman. Maybe she's wearing a pair of glasses, her hair in a tight bun, not a stray of hair poking out. She could imagine her in a corporate attire too.
"Hello?" she heard her called out her attention.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I'm actually just right in front of the building. Almost there. Sorry to keep you waiting. I have my child with me, plus two plus-sized luggages," she apologized.
"No worries. I'll be waiting." then the call got disconnected.
"What? Really? No 'See you' or 'Bye'?" she sighed exasperatedly. "So looking forward working with this Claire Dearing!" she remarked sarcastically.

She was met by security on her way to the Control Room. They asked for her badge and she remembered it was on her backpack. Letting go of her daughter's hand and the handles of the two baggages, she moved her backpack in front of her and dug it out from all her personal stuff. She pulled it out and showed it to the man who's in a black suit and tie. She raised her left brow, as if asking if there's anything he needed to see before letting her in.
The man towering in front of her held his huge hand out, stopping her. "What now?" she spat.
"You can't bring the kid inside, Miss." he quipped.
"So tell me, where am I supposed to leave my daughter? In the baggage counter?" she sarcastically answered. "Should I leave her with you? How can you assure me that you would attend to her needs, like if she needs to go the restroom or something, huh?"
"Hey!" she heard a deep rumbling voice from someone on her back. "Let the kid go with her."
Turning her back, she saw a man standing maybe more than six-feet tall. His tanned skin clad in a light blue shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. He had a brown vest over and a dirty-looking brown pants paired with brown boots. He looked exquisitely dangerous with his unruly ginger hair and stubbles around his upper lip and chin.
