Chapter X

Sam ran as fast as she could towards the door. Bursting it open, she didn't mind closing it, all she could think of was Owen's safety. Going near the glass wall, she looked outside. There, standing in front of her were different kinds of trees. One in particular caught her attention. It was straight in her line of sight. Nothing was different from it, aside from it's the only one bearing a fruit. It's orange-red in color and shiny.

She took smal step closer the glass to take a better look. Frowning, she found it strange that the odd looking fruit had a black streak. If anyone would see it, they could mistook it as an eye. She squinted and take one more step closer. She gasped when a piece of flesh wiped all over it. It's not a fruit, after all.

"Oh, my God!" she gasped, reaching out for her phone.

Quickly glancing at Owen, the security man and a construction worker, who were all gathered around the metal enclosure. She quickly dialed Claire's phone number.

"Claire Dearing, Operation Manager of Jurassic World. I can't come to the phone right now, leave me a message," it was her voice mail, with her monotonous voice.

"Shit!" she cursed under her breath.

Then she saw a black device pinned on the security's blue button up. She immediately grabbed hers, which was on her back pocket. She set her eyes in front of her again. It was still there, standing very still. It's not even blinking. What made them think that the dinosaur had escaped? Chills ran through her body as it kept staring at her.

"Owen!" She didn't get any response. "Owen, you need to get out of there, fast!"

She saw the three men staring at one another after hearing her voice from the radio. She knew that the signal might be a little scratchy and possible that they didn't catch what she said. She thought of a way how to call their attention. Waving her hand furiously, it only caught the reptile's attention. She knew, she needed to warn them and, she needed to run away to hide as fast as she could.

Her hand landed on the glass that separated her from the cage. Tapping it a couple of times, she learned that it wasn't enough as Owen and the other two men didn't even flinch on the sound she was making. She knocked on it a little bit harder, while looking at the animal's orb. It's still there, not moving.

"What are you up to?" she asked, as if talking to the reptile.

She kept on knocking, making it louder everytime her hand landed on the glass. That caught Owen's attention. He was looking at her with worry etched all over his face. He was signaling for her to get back. She thought of calling his cellphone, but she wasn't sure if he brought it with him. After deciding it's better to give it a trythan do nothing, her radio went on. It was some other lady's voice.

"You need to get out of there!" said the voice with panic, albeit the signal's cutting in and out.

Owen stared at her, while trying to make out what the woman on the radio was saying. Sam stared back with utter disbelief. How long would it take for them to figure out what's going on? She held on her radio tightly. They would have to get out of there or they'll be the dinosaur's lunch.

"Please, please" she silently chanted.

"Do you hear me? You need to get out of there! The asset is still in the cage! I repeat" said the voice again, with panic very evident. "The asset is still in the cage!"

That's when she thought they'd realized that they needed to get out as they started running away from the huge gate. They were running towards the opposite side, most likely to go back to where they entered earlier. She, again, glanced to the animal in front of her and saw it squinting it's eye couple times before she felt the ground shaking. It's moving and it's heading where the guys were.
