Lost Boy ➳ Once Upon A Time

Hi! I know that it has been a year since this book has been completed, but I just thought that for the one year anniversary (01/04/2024, posted on 02/04/2024) I'd give you, the reader, some trivia when it comes to this book! I'm still in the process of trying to edit this book (it's taking me a lot longer than it should but given my wonky update schedule for this book anyway, it's unsurprising) and I'm trying to plan out the sequel for this book as well.

In the meantime I shall share some nuggets of trivia with you all!

1. When I first published this book, it was on the same day that I came up book and its baseline as a whole, which probably explains its mess in the unedited version.

2. It took me 5 years and 4-ish months to complete this book. I was in and out of the Once Upon a Time fandom and headspace which was why it took me so long to do as such. I was also 14 when I started this book and 20 when I finished.

3. Jade was very focused on all of the desires that I had, the anger that I used to feel about a lot of things. Also the fact that Jade was a way for me to express anything that I ever felt which helped a lot in times that I was struggling with my own brain and such.

4. I never fully intended to write Rumplestiltskin/Gold as abusive towards Jade, though I somewhat feel as if it fits for Jade and her story.

5. Originally, I was going to have Jade hate Baelfire because of the favouritism that Rumplestiltskin had between her and Baelfire, though I ended up changing it that Jade felt protective over Baelfire and almost mother-like towards him.

6. On the topic of Jade being mother-like, I actually never planned for Jade to be the mother figure towards the Lost Boys, though I feel like that it was fitting for her character given that her need to protect those that she loves, like how she is with her brother.

7. Jade's book was originally just going to be a standalone, which ended literally on the wedding chapter. It wasn't until halfway through this book that I was going to do a sequel.

8. If you've been here since the start, you might remember that the original face claim for Jade was Shelley Hennig though I changed it to Danelle Campbell just because she fitted better.

9. Jade was one of the first ocs that I made and stuck with, this book is also the first book that I've ever completed as a whole.

10. For a while, Jade was one of my comfort ocs that I had, despite the irregular updating schedule that existed for this book throughout the years, she was the one character that I would always come back to.

11. My little headcanon for Jade is that no matter the universe, she'd survive. Like hunger games universe, she'd survive. Game of thrones, she'd survive, etc. Its probably a fantasy to think that she'd survive in certain circumstances, but it's just my silly little thoughts.

12. Jade's birthday is 22nd December 1554 roughly which puts her at 457 years old as of 2011

13. Jade is bisexual and annoyed at everything.

14. Because of what Jade went though with her father, I believe that there was a chance that she developed some form of PTSD, which is something that I do plan to explore in the sequel given that I think it's important to explore such a thing.

15. I do believe that Jade and Loki/Bucky would have some form of relationship with each other if they were in the same universe. I also believe that her and Natasha would be in a relationship with each other.

16. Also if I had the chance I would fully have explored the relationship between Jade and Jefferson/The Mad Hatter just because the thought of them two of them together would be something hot. Totally not because Sebastian Stan is hot as fuck.

17. Alternatively, I think that if Jade wasn't so obsessed with Peter, she would've dated Ruby/Red.

18. Aside from the relationship between Jade and other characters, I do think that Jade and Peter are true lovers. Their entire relationship was slow and developed through their friendship. Yes he might have bullied her to begin with but I do think that Peter noticed the way that she reacted to how he used to treat her which lead to him treating her better. Their relationship was better starting as friends given everything that she went through.

19. All of Jade wants in life is peace, and having Peter in her life and by her side ensures that she gets that peace. She hopes that now that she has Peter, she won't have to deal with anything traumatic like she has done beforehand. but I'm an evil bitch.

20. Throughout the course of this book, you might have noticed that although majority of canon characters have some form of positive father/mother figure, Jade never really had that after her mother left with any of the canon characters. She might have had more of a sibling-ish bond with a few but never that positive parental figure. Because of this, it is going to be something that will affect the way that she raises her and Peter's bio son. Also because of the way that she was treated, she's afraid that she'll be a horrid mother (something that will be explored in later books)

21. As mentioned in one of the earlier chapters, Jade in her cursed life as Camilla, she was an alcoholic. And she relapsed in chapter 55 I believe when Peter got trapped in Pandora's Box. Miss girl cannot catch a break.

That is all that I can think of at the moment, I will probably add more when it comes to completing the edits given that I like giving random ass facts about Jade. For now I shall say goodbye until I manage to publish the sequel. Until then, have a magical life. Forever and Always <3
