Prince Qibli is a newly appointed prince who had struggled with himself since he was a little kid. Growing up in Scorpion City with the most notorious mafia as a family, Qibli grew into the violent habits of his family. When Thorn adopted him, he never truly fit in. He never really stopped feeling the thrill of crime. So when his mother approached him after years with a job, Qibli accepted. He wanted approval. He wanted the danger. But the role of an assassin isn't the easiest thing, and especially not when your next target is someone you had already fallen in love with.

Prince Winter hates rankings. He hates his parents. He hates the arranged marriage with Lynx, a girl who had always been just a friend. Winter is trying his best. He wants to get out of his relationship with Lynx, for her happiness and his. Especially when Winter has fallen in love with a frequent visitor, Prince Qibli. They saw each other every day. They were best friends. But Winter knows a secret that Qibli isn't aware that he knows: Qibli was hired to assassinate him and had failed. Despite this, he is more than ready to die to Qibli's hands.

⋆ ADDITIONAL AU/STORY INFORMATION:

- Qibli & Winter have been friends for ~3 months before the first chapter.

- Lynx & Snowfall have been together for a year before the first chapter.

- Winter & Lynx have been engaged for a week before the first chapter.

- Snowfall & her husband have been married for a year before the first chapter.

- Qibli is the adopted son to Queen Thorn, and serves as one of her advisors. He is much different from canon Qibli. He is a jerk, taking after his family. He finds crime to be more appealing than he would in canon. He sometimes feels impulses to harm people who get in his way. Thus, he accepted a deal to work in his family as an assassin. He is also obsessive, protective, and possessive over Winter. Throughout the story, Qibli learns to distance himself from his family and change himself for the better. If you're not sure how this version of Qibli acts, just think of Darkstalker in Darkstalker: Legends. He is canonically compared to him after all.

- Winter and Lynx are arranged into a marriage when Winter turns 18 and Lynx is 19. The marriage was decided by Winter's parents and confirmed by Queen Glacier, who would have disagreed if she knew the truth. Winter has feelings for Qibli, while Lynx has feelings for Snowfall.

- Hailstorm uses he/she pronouns and goes by masculine terms. (Brother, prince, son, etc.)

- Queen Glacier and Queen Blaze are married.

⋆ CLARIFICATIONS:

- This is an overall angsty fic. They cry like every chapter. They get pretty fucked up <3 

- There is NO sexual content. Go get your dick hard somewhere else

- Also, I'm not romanticizing/glorifying Qibli's obsessive behaviour. I wanted him to be flawed, but change to realize that it's not okay to be like this. Plus, characters are allowed to be messed up. Qibli & Winter are happily together in the story, but they have their problems. It isn't a picture-perfect relationship, because both characters are fucked up and are dependent on one another. I am not trying to write a perfect relationship. I am writing a flawed one, where the characters have problems, and will get through it together, even if it takes a rough path.
