4. The practice session

Anushka POV

I woke up feeling a little tired because of the change in the environment.

For the first time in my life I had seen Ruchika wake up before 9:00, I thought 7:30 was the MAX but to my surprise she started to wake up pretty early and started practicing for the test.

I also washed my face with cold water since I was feeling really sleepy and then came to my bed and after tidying it I stood in the middle of the bedroom to dance but suddenly realised that there was no TV or Phone to play the music.

After looking at me Ruchi sighed and said

" Since you have an Amazing best friend who is VERY caring and Mature, I will help you to dance by singing a particular song that you choose." I rolled my eyes at the beginning but then smiled at her.

After a few minutes of her singing the same line again and again to " Perfect" the line ( I'm pretty sure she did that to make me irritated )
She sang some songs " Ghoomar"," Tere Naina" and another one called " Rangrez"

I have decided to dance to these songs and also some other moves if the teacher asks me to dance for a song that's unknown to me.

After some practice, both of us were tired and took some rest.

After 10 minutes one of the maids called us to eat breakfast.

As we all sat in the same places yesterday, I was again allotted a seat next to Adhitya, As we were eating he whispered something like,

" I hope you practiced well for today, mind you, I'm pretty good at dancing." In my ears.

" Don't worry, after all, we will come to know who is good only by dancing, by the way, I'm REALLY looking forward to your dance." I also gently whispered in his ears as to not bring attention towards us.

" Anyway, I hope that you all have practiced for today's session. I am looking forward to seeing each one of your dances and Songs. " Said dhasaradh Nandan Ram to which his wife maa Sita responded,

" Yeah! I'm REALLY excited to see you all. Especially Anushka and Ruchika." To which Ram ji Nodded.

After eating and practice and hanging out with Abhiti , we
Were called to the Dance Room where both the Dance Master and the Music Mam sat.

I looked at both of the and greeted them as Ruchika also did the same. It was a pretty big room with candles and flowers and it looked very nice. All the family of Adhitya and Vikram were there and the King and Queen were allotted special seats.

As me and Ruchika shared Nervous glances at each other, I heard the Dance teacher praising Adhitya, saying that he would most probably win, But, ma sita stopped him by saying that this wasn't a competition but just a test to see if we are compatible with each other.

I looked at Adhitya with the side of my eye only to look at him staring into mine.

I quickly looked away and started to focus on my dance steps.

The time came for me to dance and the master told me to dance to any song that I would like and that he would also give me a song to which I must dance on the spot.

I told him that I had practiced three songs and asked him to choose one.

He chose " Tere Naina " and
" O Rangrez "

I stepped forward a little nervously but the remembered a trick I learnt in my earlier dance classes to focus on one person in the crowd and I decided to focus on Ruchi.

As I was dancing my steps turned to the right and as I looked, I saw abhiti cheering for me and I smiled at her as graciously as I could.

By the time I finished, I noticed that nobody said anything, not even the teacher. He began by saying,

" In my 35 years of teaching dance, I have NEVER seen a person this gracious when it comes to dance. It's true that when it comes to dancing I have always favoured Adhitya but you, You are what I would like to say, a person equivalent to a Swan."

I was overwhelmed to say the least. I looked at Ruchi who in turn gave me a wholesome smile.

Then it was Adhitya 's turn.

He was Fabulous. He danced to a specific song chosen by the teacher to which he danced fabulously.

After he finished we had to wait for the Result.

After a while of discussion between the two teachers they came to a conclusion that we both cannot be compared. The dance master spoke,

" You both I feel are like two halves that match PERFECTLY to each other. It's like comparing a peacock and a Swan. Both dances are different in its own way and when brought together it's even more Magical. "

We glanced at each other as the other singing test took place. Ruchika went first singing some songs.

And then came Vikram.

And sang some other songs.

After a while their results also came, I could literally FEEL the cold war happening between them. As the teachers came to a conclusion that,

" Both of you are equivalent to each other. I have a feeling that this pairing of Anushka, Adhitya and Ruchika, Vikram would be the talk of the year!"

After some discussions we all set up time tables for all of us as to when and where the individual/team practice takes place.

The teacher would assign particular songs and dances for us tomorrow to practice and until then our work was to work together as a TEAM.

And since the base of a team is Teamwork, we were all supposed to get to know each other better by walking near the ponds early morning  tomorrow.

Everyone congratulated all the four of us and we were  Exhausted by the end of the day and went to bed early.

. Guys I'm really sorry to cut this chapter short, I was getting ready for a function and just now got the time to publish.
