Kaeya woke up in a comfortable, plush bed in a stone room. He sat up slowly, resting his pounding head against the wooden frame of his bed.

"Ugh..." he moaned, bringing his hand up to touch his face. His hair, his cheek, his nose and... bandages? He frowned. He tilted his head. He blinked. He blinked... an eye. Not two.

  "What...?"
Then it all came flooding back. The noise, the pain, the memories, Diluc's hands, Barbara's healing and the 𝘷𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦. That voice he hadn't heard in years. The one that made him grip the bedsheets in fear as a kid and tear his room apart as an adult.

The    𝘷𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦   that beckoned him into the Abyss.

That of his Father.

𝑯𝒊𝒔 Father.

Calling him back.

"Kaeya? Ah, glad to see you've come back to your senses." The voice was back, and it was 𝘴𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨?
Kaeya jumped in the bed, suddenly alert and vigilant.

"I'm very pleased you've decided to take that restricting thing off your pretty face, it truly ruined my visual."

"Enough." He said, trembling far more than his voice let on. "Why have you come back for me? I will do everything in my power to prevent you from seeing anything, and you know it."

"Oh I know, but it's 𝘧𝘢𝘳 too late for that. You see, your religious friends really took their time with getting you here, so I was able to get a good look at all the layout of that lovely little city you so selfishly call home."
