Draco sat by Olivia's bedside. Adalynn hadn't returned yet. And he was worried. He knew that Olivia could only hold on for so long. Then she would simply be gone.

Draco hated the idea that someone he loved and cared about was about to be snatched from him. And he felt as though the world was working against him.

He took hold of her hand. "Liv. Please hold on. For me. I... I don't know what I'm going to do without you. So please. Hold on. Your mum will be back soon. And she'll help you. I know she will," he whispered.

The door opened and Severus walked in again. He looked around. "Is Adalynn not back yet?" He questioned.

Draco shook his head and sighed. "No sir. It's going to be too late. I'm going to lose her," he said.

Severus sighed and shook his head. "No you won't. I will go and find Adalynn. I'll bring her back immediately," he told him. He sighed. "Don't let anyone touch her. The curse will be taking hold even more soon."

Draco nodded. He wiped away a tear that had fallen. Olivia was the one person who had stayed by his side through everything. And he didn't know how to feel about the fact she was so close to dying.

Severus arrived at Riddle Manor. He saw Adalynn coming out of a bedroom. "Do you realise that your daughter is close to death? And you're here having a nap?" He spat.

Adalynn looked up. Tears in her eyes. "You think I was having a fucking nap. I was doing what needed to be done. To save my child," she said.

"How?"

Adalynn handed Severus the vial of blood. "I told you. I'd do whatever it takes to get his blood," she told him. Tears poured down her cheeks.

Severus realised what had happened. He saw how dishevelled Adalynn was. And he realised what had happened. "Adalynn. Tell me you didn't."

Adalynn looked up. "I did what I had to. To save my little girl. And I'd do it again," she said as she walked off. "Take that to her. I need a bath."

Severus knew how Adalynn would have done whatever she could to make sure Olivia survived. But he didn't think she would do that.

He knew that she was a good mum. Even if she didn't have the ability to be a mum. Especially as Olivia was the daughter of rape.

Draco looked up as severus walked in. He saw the vial of blood. "Oh thank god. You've got it?" Where's Adalynn?" He asked.

"She's... a little busy right now. Let's just say, she did whatever possible to make sure Olivia survived."

Draco frowned. He knew what that meant. And the respect he had for Adalynn went up. "The blood?"

Severus looked up. He walked over to Olivia and tipped the blood into a goblet. He knew this would be awful for her. "Is there anything we can do? To stop the taste?"

Severus shook his head. "No. This was the dark lords plan. He never expected anyone to seek him for his blood. It's why he did this," he told him.

Draco nodded. He couldn't watch as Severus gave Olivia the blood. But nothing happened. She hadn't regained the colour in her cheeks. She hadn't moved. "Professor?"

The door opened and Adalynn walked in. She frowned. "Well?"

"It hasn't worked. He can't be her father because it hasn't worked," Severus said as he turned to Adalynn. "Did you know?"

Adalynn shook her head. But just what was going on?
