On a morning when the night rain had just stopped, the air still carried a hint of coolness. After changing his clothes, Ming Zhou and Xiao Jin'ang went out. They didn’t have a cat carrier, so they could only wrap the kitten in Xiao Jin'ang's coat. Fortunately, the kitten was surprisingly well-behaved, not struggling at all, just quietly lying in Xiao Jin'ang's arms.

The animal clinic was just across the street. Ming Zhou had an injured knee, so he naturally walked slower. He looked gentle with a pair of sunglasses habitually worn on his nose and slightly pursed lips. Under the sunlight, he exuded a subtle sense of detachment. There was no blank confusion of a blind person, but rather a hint of restrained sharpness, provided one ignored the white cane in his hand.

Xiao Jin'ang was somewhat worried that Ming Zhou might fall, so he paid attention to his condition throughout the journey. Sensing his gaze, Ming Zhou misunderstood his intention and said apologetically, "I'm sorry for walking so slowly."

"It's okay," Xiao Jin'ang's voice sounded unconcerned. He looked down at the kitten in his arms and lamented that he didn't have an extra hand, muttering to himself, "If I didn't have to hold the kitten, I could carry you."

He felt that Ming Zhou was struggling every time they walked, especially today when his leg was injured. He could actually carry him, but Ming Zhou probably wouldn’t agree.

Ming Zhou continued to navigate with his white cane, remaining silent. After a moment, he asked, "Do you treat all your friends like this?"

Xiao Jin'ang instinctively looked up, "What?"

Ming Zhou heard a faint dog bark in the distance and shook his head slightly, "Never mind, we're here."

Ming Zhou felt that if he didn't hear the answer he wanted, he would only be causing trouble for himself, so he chose to remain silent and not pursue the question further. Little did he know that Xiao Jin'ang hadn't been a good friend to his previous hosts, often hurting them with his sharp edges.

As Xiao Jin'ang looked ahead, he found that the animal clinic was just a few meters away. Holding the kitten with one hand, he naturally held Ming Zhou's hand with the other, reminding him with concern, "Walk this way, there are steps ahead, be careful."

Ming Zhou had already adapted to Xiao Jin'ang's occasional intimate actions. Sensing Xiao Jin'ang holding his hand, he hesitated for a moment before following him into the pet hospital. The air was filled with the unique smell of animals, mixed with a faint smell of disinfectant and a constant sound of barking and meowing.

The nurse at the front desk saw them and subconsciously stopped her work, greeting them with surprise, "Dr. Ming, what brings you here?"

From the tone, it seemed they knew each other. Xiao Jin'ang couldn't help but curiously glance at the nurse.

Ming Zhou nodded, always polite but with an imperceptible sense of distance, "My friend found a stray cat yesterday, its eyes seem to have some problems, so I brought it here for a check-up. Could you please take a look?"

The nurse then noticed the handsome boy standing beside Ming Zhou, holding a weak kitten in his arms. She approached, carefully took the kitten from Xiao Jin'ang, and said, "A stray cat, huh? Let's do a comprehensive examination first. Dr. Ming, please have a seat. I'll let you know the results later."

After comforting the scared kitten, the nurse walked into the examination room.

Xiao Jin'ang noticed a waiting area nearby, where a young couple sat on the bench, seemingly there for their pet as well, with two empty seats left. He sat down next to Ming Zhou and couldn't help but ask curiously, "Do you know that nurse?"
