Elijah stood by the kitchen counter, pouring milk into a bowl followed by a serving of fruit loops. People thought it was strange, but he preferred it in that order. Once done, he placed the box of cereal on top of the refrigerator and slid the milk gallon inside.

He took a seat at the kitchen table, placing the bowl down, and reached for his phone, noticing he'd received a text from his mother.

Ma ❤️
Good morning Eli. I got called
into work early so Zay's gonna
be taking you to school  today. I
already told him but you might
have to wake him again
sent 7:15am

He let out a sigh as he realized Isaiah would be taking him. Although Isaiah had taken him to school on some days, Elijah always preferred when his mom dropped him off. He acknowledged the message by liking it, and closed the iMessage app, opening Instagram instead. He tapped on Azariah's story, curious to see what she had posted.

Elijah admired how Azariah constantly switched up her hairstyles. Whether it was braids, wigs, or her natural hair, she always managed to create new looks. Since she did her own hair, she had the freedom to experiment and change it up whenever she wanted.

"Mornin,'" Isaiah greeted, catching Elijah off guard as he approached from behind. He quickly glanced at Elijah's phone, seeing he was repeatedly rewatching Azariah's story.

"What, dats yo lil girlfriend assum?" Isaiah chuckled, throwing on a plain white polo tee. He enjoyed teasing Elijah, something that little brother always found irritating.

"Fuck up," Elijah muttered, shaking his head as he placed his mostly empty bowl in the sink. After, he put on his black bubble coat, knowing he'd need it for the chilly weather outside.
