Best Friends

"Hey pick me up now?" Payton texts Trevor. After a minute, she gets a response. "Yep! I'll be there in 15 minutes :)" Payton reads. She walks downstairs to her dad's room and helps pack. "So what time will Trevor pick us up tonight?" Her dad asks. "Well your flight is at 3am so maybe 1:30am." Payton thinks. "Sounds good." Her dad smiles. "Trevor is on his way to come pick me up." Payton tells her dad. "Where are you two going?" Dad asks. "We are probably just gonna go get some lunch and ride around. I still have to tell him that I'm moving." Payton explains. "You haven't told him?" Dad asks. "Nope. Not yet." Payton sighs. "I'm nervous though. He's my best friend." Payton says. "I'm sure he'll understand. I'll probably just take a little nap while you guys are gone." Her dad smiles. "Do you want me to bring you anything?" Payton asks her dad. "Nah I'll be fine. I still got some cake left." Her dad smiles. "Are you sure? I mean I pretty much emptied the fridge and pantry already." Payton laughs. "I'll be fine. You just go have fun with Trevor." Her dad smiles. After a couple more minutes of packing, Trevor arrived.
"Hey Trevi." Payton hops into the car. "Hey! So where do you wanna go for lunch?" Trevor asks. "In N Out?" Payton suggests. "Sure! By the outlet mall right?" Trevor asks. "Yep! I might also want to go there to. Get some things." Payton smiles. "We can do that." Trevor smiles backing out of the driveway. "So what is it that you want to tell me?" Trevor asks still looking at the road. "I'll tell you when we get there." Payton slightly smiles.
They arrive at In-N-Out and ordered their food. "So talk to me." Trevor says sitting down at the table. "It's really not easy for me to say though." Payton tells him. "It's ok. Then just tell me." Trevor smiles. "Ok well...you know how Daniel and I are making the EP?" Payton says. "Yea.." Trevor looks at her. "Well since we are a long distance couple, we have no way of recording the songs." Payton starts to say. "So the thing is that, Daniel and his parents have a extra room at his place and said I can move in..." Payton breaks the news. "So you're moving to Vancouver?" Trevor asks and Payton just nods. "Well I think that's pretty cool." Trevor smiles. "You really think so?" Payton asks. "Yea! I mean, you and Daniel have non stop been talking about making music together and this is finally your chance! This is your dream." Trevor smiles and tells Payton. "So you're not mad or upset that I'm leaving?" Payton asks. "No! I am gonna miss you though but you're my best friend and if you're happy then I'm happy." Trevor smiles. "Thanks Trevi. Your support means the absolute world to me." Payton smiles. "I'm here for anything. We've known each other for a year now and the connection between us will never change. Even when we're like 30." Trevor laughs. "Thanks" Payton smiles. "So how long have you and Daniel been together?" Trevor asks. "It will be 7 months on Saturday." Payton smiles. "You guys have been together for a while now." Trevor says. "Yep! Hey how are you and the girl you told me about a couple months ago?" Payton asks. "Oh we haven't really had a spark. She didn't really appreciate my nerdy side." Trevor laughs. "Aww but I think your nerdyness is cute!!!" Payton says. "Apparently she didn't think so." Trevor says. "Aww well it's her loss. You're a great guy." Payton smiles. "Thanks." Trevor smiles. "So when you going to Vancouver?" Trevor asks. "Hopefully before school starts." Payton starts to say. "School starts on September 2nd and the tour ends on Friday so I'll probably leave on Monday or Tuesday." Payton explains. "So you gonna go to school with him?" Trevor asks. "Yep!" Payton smiles. "Your nervous?" Trevor asks. "A little. That Jess girl will be there." Payton says. "Oh yea I remember her. I'm sure you'll be fine though. You'll have fun." Trevor smiles. "Hope so." Payton laughs.
"Hey so my dad flight leaves at 3am and then do you mind if I say with you for the day tomorrow cause the next flight to LA isn't until 9am on Friday." Payton tells Trevor. "Yea of course. What you wanna do tomorrow?" Trevor asks. "We can do whatever you want." Payton smiles. "We could go see a movie and go to the mall." Trevor suggests. "Alright cool." Payton smiles. "Wait. Trevor didn't you start school this week?" Payton asks. "Yea. I'll just skip tomorrow and get there late on Friday." Trevor smiles. "Are you sure?" Payton asks. "Yea. It's only the first week I'll be fine." Trevor laughs. Payton and Trevor went to the outlet malls and got a couple things and Trevor drove her back home. "Thanks Trevor." Payton smiles and gets out of the car. "No problem. See ya at 1!" Trevor laughs. "See ya!" Payton smiles and shuts the door. "Hey dad." Payton walks into the kitchen. "Hey sweetie! Where you guys go?" Her dad asks. "We went to In-N-Out for lunch and then went by the outlets." Payton says. "And I got you something." Payton says opening one of the bags and she pulls out a gun holder. "Oh this is so cool." Her dad smiles grabbing the holder. "Yea. So you can use that for your gun." Payton smiles. "I will definitely use this one instead of that old one." Her dad says smiling. "Thanks sweetie." Her dad hugs her. "No problem." Payton smiles. "I'm gonna miss you but you gotta do what you gotta do to support the both of us" Payton looks at her dad. "Mom would be proud." Payton finishes. "She's not just proud of me. She's also proud of you. You went out to audition a year ago and now look at you." Her dad says. "You're 16, you're moving to Vancouver and you found love." Her dad finishes. They finish their father-daughter bond and they had dinner.
It was about 1 am and Trevor said he would be there a little bit early. Payton helped her dad bring his luggage downstairs and set them by the front door. "Alright well...I'm gonna miss his place." Her dad says. "I am too. Has anyone rented it yet?" Payton asks. "Yea a couple with a daughter will move in here next week." Her dad says. "Well...let's hope they enjoy this place as much as I will." Payton smiles. Trevor then arrived and they loaded the trunk with Mr. Vaughns luggage. Trevor drove to the airport and then they helped check in bags. They walks near the security and then it was time to say goodbye. "Alright well....this is it." Payton turns to her dad. "No it's not. I'll be back." Her dad smiles. "But no matter what happens to me....I'll also be with you." Her dad tells Payton. "I'll miss you." Payton tears up. "I will too." Her dad smiles. "I'm so proud of you. You get to achieve your dream and be in love at the same time. Never give up on this. You worked so hard for this." Her dad tells Payton. "Thanks dad." Payton hugs him again. "Bye Trevor." Her dad turns to Trevor and gives him a "man hug". "Have a safe trip Mr. Vaughns." Trevor smiles. "Thank you for everything you've done. Take care of my daughter." Her dad smiles at Trevor. "I promise." Trevor smiles. "Good luck in Washington. Have fun of the DP and have fun at school." Her dad turns back to Payton. "And tell Daniel thank you." Her dad adds in. "For what?" Payton asks. "For keeping you happy. Ever since you've been with him..all you did was smile and be happy." Her dad explains. "I know you had some rough times but he's made them better when I wasn't there. And so I thank him for that. He's a good kid." Her dad finishes. "He sure is. I'll make sure to tell him." Payton smiles. "Well I need to get going. I'll call you when I land." Her dad says which caused Payton to tear up more. "Bye dad. Be safe." Payton gives him one last hug. He gives her a kiss on her head and then let's go. "Bye Trevor." He turns and smiles at Trevor. "Bye sir. Have a safe flight." Trevor smiles. "Thank you." Mr. Vaughns smiles and grabs his carry on. Payton walks over to Trevor and she hugs him. They watched as her dad went through security and then disappeared into the gates. That was the last Payton saw of him.. Waiting will be the hard part. "Let's get out of here." Payton tells Trevor and they walk to the car. Payton spent the rest of the day with Trevor and he helped her do some early packing for Vancouver. All they did was but all of Payton's clothes in suitcases. They already got two suitcases done that day then it was time to stop for now.

The next day...it was the day for the last show and Payton had to go back to California. Trevor drove Payton to the airport and walked her to security. "Thanks Trevor. For everything you did." Payton turns to Trevor. "Hey, I'm always here for you." Trevor smiles and hugs Payton. "Alright, I guess I'll see you in two days." Payton laughs. She went through security and she immediately had to catch her flight.

.Payton landed and she spotted Jax and Nick waiting for her. She runs up to them and hugs them. "So glad you're back." Jax laughs. "I was only gone for two days." Payton laughs. "Longest two days ever!" Jax says. "Yea after the Seattle show, the bus was so lonely. And the show last night was so different." Nick explains. "Yea. Yesterday morning, Rayvon made your protein smoothie but then realized you weren't there." Jax laughs. "Aww well I'm here. And we are gonna make this last show the best." Payton smiles. "Yes! Let's do this." Nick says. They walks back to the bus and Payton hugged everyone else and they kept saying how much they missed her and how it was so different. This was the day where all the memories had to be remembered.
