Chapter 1

Back before the apocalypse

"Hey, Mirae!" Y/n yelled out as a small young boy with short black hair waved at her. He looked to be waiting for her on the steps outside his door "Y/n! You're here earlier than usual!" he spoke with excitement "My dad was called to work early so he dropped me off early!" Y/n explained, "My mom said you can stay over until 9!" he revealed as he opened his door. "Hi, Ms!" she greeted his mother who seemed to be making food in the kitchen "Hello, Y/n!" she called out. She was used to Y/n coming over because she was also friends with her father who was a very busy man. She knew he never liked leaving her alone at home so she'd offered to have Y/n over, instantly Mirae and Y/n became friends

"You have to go already?" Mirae pouted "She has to go. Her father wants her home at the same time he is!" she explained to Mirae a hundred times "Bye Mirae!" y/n called looking back at him as she left through the door
His mom walked her to her house which wasn't as far as you would think. It was a few houses down but who knows something could happen to a small kid at this time at night.

Time skip

"Why can't I go over to their place again?" y/n pleaded to her dad "Darling it's my day off!" he revealed "Yay can we spread today together?" she asked pouting "Yes of course!" he yelled as he picked her up and swung her around. They soon went out to eat them at a clothes shop "Why clothes?" y/n asked as she looked up at her father "You need a uniform!" he answered chuckling as her eyes lit up "Yay uniform!" she screamed as people stopped and looked at the screaming girl. Her father apologized and took her inside the store. They soon got her uniform and went back home for y/n to rest because she had gotten tired. She fell asleep on the floor and her father couldn't help but laugh and took her to her room.  She woke up to see no one was home. She felt scared and turned the TV that was explaining what was happening, she heard a knock on the door "Y/n?" her father's voice was heard "Dad?" she called out "Don't open the door!" he pleaded out to her "not even for me!" he warned "What's happening, Dad, I want you to hug me" she cried in front of the door now "please know that I love you..." he sobbed "dad.. I love you too, but why can't I open the door?" she questioned as she heard a window shatter, she turned to see a monster running at her. She faints due to fear.
