Blind Love; An intense emotional attachment or affection towards someone that is not based on rational judgment of the person's qualities; including flaws or negative traits. It often involves idealising the person and overlooking their imperfections, sometimes to the detriment of one's own well-being or the health of the relationship.

Ellie sat in Abel's lap as he had a blunt between his lips and his hands on a PlayStation controller, he never paid her much attention, she wasn't very high maintenance - never needed more than a cuddle or a kiss to wash away the pain he gave her.

They'd been together 3 years this July and she's never been more in love in her life, some of her friends dislike Abel - well most of them actually. They constantly tell her that he's bad news, he's just using her blah blah blah.

She'd heard it all a million times and it couldn't be further from the truth ~ In her eyes ~ everyone but her could see it, he didn't love her, not really, given that she was such low maintenance and never demanded anything from him he didn't see the point in ending things with her.

He'd realised pretty early on in the relationship that he could get away with just about anything if he sucked up enough afterwards, he took the chance. When else would he be in a relationship where the girl would willingly let him cheat? Well not willingly but she never made much of an effort to stop him.

He did the bare minimum for her, taking her out to dinner, buying her gifts, complimenting her - the usual. Any sort of crumbs he threw her way she'd eat up in a heartbeat like he was the world's best boyfriend - he wasn't.

He wasn't a dick to her despite how he treat the relationship, they actually got on well but he saw her more as a best friend.

She rubbed his beard and he played his game, he didn't mind the constant attention she gave him, she really put him on a pedestal. She idolised him.

She squished his cheeks in her palms and laughed softly. "You're so cute baby." She says to him.

He smiles slightly but remains focused on his game, that's until his phone buzzes on the coffee table. "I'll ge-" she tries to hand it to him.

He snatches it before she does. "No I got it baby, it's good." He says.

She frowns at that but pays it no mind, she was so naive, how could she not see it?

He put down his controller to check his phone.

Then she felt him tap her thigh. "Up baby I gotta make a call."

She pouts but he pushes her lip back in with his thumb. "Don't pout mama, I'll be quick okay?"

She's then moved aside onto the couch as he leaves to make his call.

She was ridiculously clingy, it was like she needed to be touching him at all times, whether that be their thighs touching when they sat next to each other, her sitting in his lap, her touching his arm.

She hadn't much experience with guys before she met Abel, she'd been with one man but it lasted 5 months before he cheated and she left him instantly so why she was putting up with Abel's promiscuity? she didn't even know herself.

She waited for a total of 40 minutes before going to find him, he said he'd be quick, she thought to herself.

She searches high and low for him, did he leave the house?

After 20 minutes of looking she gave up, he'd left without even saying anything, what an asshole.

She tries calling him but no answer.

Later that night...

She's on the verge of sleep when she hears the front door open and slam shut.

Abel was back.

He sat next to her, placing her legs over his lap.

"Hi gorgeous, I'm back."

She smiles at him.

"Hi baby, where'd you go? You were ages."

He frowns. "No I wasn't, I went for a smoke that's all."

"You were gone for 2 hours."

He shakes his head. "I wasn't."

"It's 9, it was like 6:50 when you left."

"I came back ages ago, I was just in the car."

She nodded completely forgetting that he'd just said he was back now.

"Okay... what was that call about?"

"Nothing important, just work."

She nods and sits up to cuddle him but pulls back upon noticing a few red marks on his neck.

"What's that?"

"What's what?" He was too immersed in the tv.

"Never mind." She knew better than to bring up signs of his infidelities, it's just end up in an argument and then he'd ghost her for days and she hated not being around him.

"Okay, it's late baby I'm gonna hit the sack."

She nods.

"Me too."
