Shadow's POV
"Let him go!!" I roared, squirming in knuckle's arms but sonic and knuckles held me down, a look of fear across their faces, making me confused but I was rather more concern for Valentino, despite our rivalry, I was worried about him
The person chuckled as Valentino growled, gritting and clenching his bare teeth from the annoyance and anger he's experiencing but I see a look of fear beyond his eyes, making me even more confused
The person spoke up with a stupid grin on their face "I own you... or have you forgotten that?" My heart dropped so did my face when I knew exactly what he meant, I looked at Valentino with worry on my eyes, he avoided eye contact with the rest of us and just stared up at the person
"Grrrr.." I heard Valentino growl, the person spoke again "you thought you can get rid of me, heartess? Your parents were my enemies..that makes you mine too.." the person tugged the chains, making Valentino wince with a groan
"I don't care, just don't bring my friends into this!" Val shouted, the person laughed with a scoff "you're so funny, heartess.." the person replied, Valentino growled "don't. Call..me. heartess.." "I'll call you whatever I want.." the person said, tugging the chains again
Valentino's POV
Damn it, these goddamn chains hurt like hell. Yep..this was the deal I made, I gave my soul to someone who hated my parents, but I was a kid back than and my parents were dead! I didn't know what I was doing. Now I regret ever even listening to him when I was a child, he was teaching me when I was young, but once I turned 16 I noticed how he was just after my power. I ran off once I was 18, packed my things, and zoomed off. Guess he found me again..I should have put on my mask in the first place, I can see why shadow calls me stupid sometimes.
"Gah.." I groaned from the pain of the tight chain around my neck, I lowered my head as he spoke "I'm not here for a battle..not yet at least.. I'll let you get your friend, tails for now. But if you see me, it's game on" the person said with a grin. I growled in annoyance as the chain disappeared and he teleported off but I felt sleepy due to that sleep affection the chains have. Shadow pushed knuckles away and immediately ran to me and held me close to his chest..
"Val, the hell was that!?" He said with concern in his eyes. I didn't replied and just swallowed hard as my eyelids dropped halfway from exhaustion, feeling sleepiness fall all over my body.
I saw him sigh as he picked me up in a bridal style, making me lean against his chest. I groaned and yawned softly, his warmth wasn't helping me stay awake, so I slowly fell asleep after hearing these words "sleep, Valentino..you need it.." from shadow, making my heart melt. In a good way of course. My eyes slowly started to start as I slowly fell asleep in shadows arms, leaning my head on his chest
Shadows pov
I sigh to relax myself, I keep tight yet gentle hold on Valentino, gently presses his head onto my chest fur to soothe him, rubbing his ear gently as I held him in a bridal style..I can't even believe what I'm doing, I'm comforting. My rival. Ugh, something's wrong with me, I never acted or even did this before but I honestly didn't care, I don't want- NEED Valentino dying.
"Just stay calm, Val." I whispered gently as we walked, sonic handed me a blanket, knowing it's getting cold. I took the blanket and gently and carefully wrap the blanket around Valentino's body and over his head like a hood, I still wonder how Valentino made a deal to sell his soul. And how to get him free. Good thing I brought my gun.. earlier back at the base when Valentino was arguing and saying how dangerous this mission could be to sonic. I secretly agreed so I bought my gun just in case. But I knew that bad things are gonna happen, I should have known..
I kept Valentino sleeping in my arms as we walked through the trees, through the woods. I kept an eye on my surroundings, hoping that so-called 'pyscho' won't come back..or...not yet at least. Even though I'm Val's rival, I was concerned for him. For some reason so instead of dropping him like I usual did, I kept him in my arms, his face basically buried into my chest fur. His knees bent upwards with my arm underneath them and my other arm wrapped around him to keep him close to me and to avoid him falling. I grew more concerned and worried when I noticed a tiny purple scar on Valentino's leg, I noticed how it was glowing a little but I tried not to pay no mind to it. Maybe Valentino been have that scar..I hope.
Valentino's POV
Later on
I woke up in shadows arms but I didn't pull away. I let out a sigh and a groan when I felt sore, for some reason I couldn't feel my leg. But of course, as stubborn as I am, I didn't say anything and leaned more onto shadow's chest, I noticed how it was sunset, and we were in the deeper and darker part of the woods, just thinking about it was making my stomach twist. In a bad way too. I gulped hardly as a shiver went up my body to my spine, my pink eyes lit up in the sun's light as I finally noticed the blanket around me. I didn't remove it, but I removed it off my head and looked up at shadow with sleepy siren eyes. I chuckled sleepily when I noticed some blush appear on his cheeks, as if my sleepy eyes affected him..cute
