(Third person:)
Another long day of work. Usually, you reward yourself with a treat for working a glorious 11-hour work day with a weekend off. But Dogday unfortunately wasn't lucky enough to receive such a luxury; he could only hope the long work days would pay off. But his boss was demanding, dumping every possible ounce of work into Dogday's lap. Forcing the poor canine to work grueling hours, the worst part was that he got no overtime for it. This was internally frustrating, but what could he do? He needed a job to both support himself and his lover at home.
He snapped back into reality when he finished his last bit of work, turning the piece over and submitting the final product on his computer. He turned off the machine and began to clean up his cubicle, which was starting to be littered with discarded foam cups of what used to hold coffee. Once all was cleaned and he packed his things in his bag, he left the empty and dark office, practically dragging his feet into the parking lot and into his car. He opened the back door to the driver's side and tossed in his bag. Closing it with a heavy slam, then opening the driver's side door and crawling in.
After getting somewhat comfortable in his seat, he leaned back and let out a deep sigh of both exhaustion and relaxation. The best part of work was definitely the feeling of leaving. He placed his key into the ignition and turned the key. The car began to roar to life, and the light hum of the engine made the car lightly shake. After turning on his radio, he pulled out. After pulling out of the parking lot, he began to go down a hill. Taking a right and going down a long and dark road, he pulled uphill and onto the main road. He departed to the left once more, and after driving down the main road for a moment, he pulled past his little town's main square. Which contained a courthouse and was swarmed by smaller buildings of business and government, etc.
After driving past the square, he turned right and now began to slowly leave the little town. After reaching the outskirts of town, he took his final right into his driveway. The small house, which stood only 2 stories high, had faint white paint that seemed to curl and chip away at certain patches. But it was home; the cozy home practically beckoned for Dogday to enter. Turning off the car and opening his door. Snaking out of his car, he decided to leave his bag in his car. He'd much rather deal with it later, when he didn't feel so groggy. After walking up the front door, he pulled out his keys and began to flip through them one by one until he found a small bronze key labeled A-1. He took it and placed it into the keyhole of the knob. Turning it right and making the knob twist as well with a light
"Click."
Dogday pushed open the door and pulled the key out of the lock. After stepping inside and closing the door, he observed his dark and uninvited living room. The sound of nothing but the light creaking of old floorboards whining and wheezing under the pressure of furniture. Dogday took a few steps forward, and immediately the room was blasted with a blinding light as the lights flicked on, On the couch in the living room was Catnap himself, wearing only a nighttime robe and a little sleeping cap that hung from the side of his ear. His arms crossed as he peered up at Dogday. The canine looked down at Catnap; he instantly smiled and tossed his keys without much care of where they went. Immediately pulling off his tie and tossing that aside, he was working on unbuttoning his shirt when Catnap let out a mighty
"Hmpf."
Dogday stops and titled his head to the side, his large dog ear hanging off his head.
"What's wrong, my love?"
Catnap didn't answer; he scooted a little to the side and tightened his crossed arms. He was now hugging himself tightly as he gave Dogday a big pouty face.
"You know what."
Dogday frowned, and he kept walking up to Catnap, the large canine now falling to his knees. He hugged the lower waist of the feline. Catnap would try his best to not cave into the cute puppy's act, maintaining his very serious demeanor. He looked away from Dogday to hide his partial blush that was flushing on his face.
"You've... You've been working a lot; I get lonely sometimes."
Dogday made a small whine. He felt bad that he had to leave the feline alone for so long. His grip tightens around Catnap's waist as his head nuzzles up against Catnap's knee. The feline finally looked down at Dogday, and the canine finally got to see Catnap's cute and adorable blush. Dogday's frown turned into a wide smile.
"Hehe, you're so cute."
Catnap blushed harder, his face red like a tomato. He gave Dogday a singular pat on the head, his hand ruffling the silly canine's hair. Dogday leaned into the warm and inviting hand happily.
"I'm sorry, Catnap; I can only try and ask for fewer hours."
Catnap immediately groaned and rolled his eyes. Dogday had said this last time, and then the canine started working 11 hours! Catnap hooked his arms under Dogday's armpits, using all of his strength he could muster. Yanking the canine onto the couch, his legs opening up and clamping around Dogday's waist, his tail coiling around Dogday's waist. Keeping the trapped canine all nice and secure, the feline pulled Dogday on top of him. Now with Dogday's chest smushing his face, the feline made an approved purr. Dogday looked down at Catnap and giggled at his cuteness. His hand came up and began to stroke Catnap's shoulder.
"So cute."
"Hush and cuddle with me."
Dogday chuckled softly at the abrasive feline, his bratty words making the stress from work seem like a distant memory. So the canine now leaned into Catnap and made a gentle sigh.
"Whatever you say, my love."
