Navier was now in her room, lying on the bed, and dreading the next day.
'Was it always like this? How the hell did Navier keep up with him?' were the thoughts that invaded her mind at the moment.
She was so distracted that she didn't hear the double doors of her room open and close, signaling that someone had entered her room; without knocking.
When she finally felt the presence of another person in her spacious bedroom, she sat upright and looked around just as quickly.
Her jade like eyes landing on a lean figure in the shadows, the sun had already went down and it was nearing bedtime, meaning that there was little to no lighting in her room.
But Navier knew that the only person that could come in her space without permission was the person she ruled under, the king; her husband.
She made a little side note in her mind to stop familiarizing the term husband with the man in front of her.
Sovi saw Navier sit up and look around before her eyes landed on him and lowered just as quickly. 'Maybe she doesn't want to look at me after the argument'.
Before he could say anything to address the current situation Navier beat him to it, her stern voice echoing around the walls of the chamber.
N: "What are you doing here so late your highness?'
Sovieshu took a few seconds to answer, he didn't know what to address first, her cold demeanour or her revealing outfit, so he hurriedly blurted out an answer without thinking too much.
S: "Is it so wrong for a husband to visit her wife? And why must you address me so coldly, what have I done wrong?"
N: "If you wish to finish our little argument and make a point, my King, I'll have to offer you disappointing news. I have no more energy to argue. It's late. I suggest you take this time to get back to your room."
'Or, better yet, leave her room.' Navier thought to herself with a sour expression on her face. That didn't go unnoticed by the person in front of her, who was moving closer and closer to her large bed enough to fit 5 people.
Sovieshu was now sitting by her side on the bed, both letting they're feet hang over the edge. Sovi leans back with his arms behind him to keep him from falling as he says..
S: 'I can tell from your expression that someone's on your mind. Particularly someone your having bad thoughts about.'
Navier stays silent as she turns her head to look over at him. He looks relaxed, and for the first time since he came in, Navier acknowledges his messy hair, popped buttons on his shirt revealing the top of his bare chest, and the fruitful smile on his face. His eyes are closed at the moment so Navier takes the chance to fully examine him. Wondering how he got like this. 'He looks completely different from when I saw him a few hours ago', Navier thought to herself.
Her attention was brought down to the bracelet around his wrist as she was trailing her eyes down his solid arms. The bracelet was made of a skinny piece of black yarn and had one silver pearl in the middle. As she was busy examining the unfamiliar bracelet, she felt eyes on her. It took her a minute to realize that Sovieshu was probably staring at her staring at his hands.
She turns her head, embrasseed, and quickly says, 'I was checking out your bracelet not you'.
S: "You've been caught Navier, and now your trying to make excuses".
N: "Just tell me why your in here, I'm sure you have better things to do."
It's true, the king surely had more important matters to attend to than his wife and Navier hated it. Although the original Navier would never admit it outloud.
S: "That's not true at all."
He sounded angry but also sad and worried at the same time. 'Was it possible to feel such emotions at once?' Navier thought to herself.
S: "Navier look at me."
With little to no resistance, Navier turns, barely expecting what she was going to see. In the dimmed lighting produced by the night lamp, Sovieshu's silver-gray eyes had turned almost ashy black and his brows were furrowed. He softens his expression when he senses her confusion.
S: "Don't be like this Navier. Don't make me seem like the bad guy, when everything I'm doing is for you. Please you have to understand that I want what's best for us, the kingdom....
And our future children".
She saw red.
His head turned to the side.
It all happened so fast, the words leaving his mouth, the swift motion, and the current stinging sensation on his right cheek.
A heavy breathing sound could be heard from the right side of the bed, where Navier was seated.
But the silence was loud.
The tension high.
And both people were stilled.
A angered wife had slapped her husband.
The Queen had struck the King.
