(This is a bonus after Chapter 13. Enjoy !!)

Enjoy some (Y/n) and Max time !!

Having a fairly resilient immune system, being sick was something that happens rarely to (Y/n). It was so rare that, when she DOES get sick, she got the whole package.

Fever, stuffy nose, sore throat, nausea, numbness, and more..

-
As you can guess, my dear reader, sickness for you feels like dying.
But, enough 4th wall breaking..
-

As the curly-haired counselor was now stuck in her bed, a certain small boy was sure there to keep her company and take care of her as much as he could.

Speaking of which, (Y/n) couldn't help but give out raspy giggles as Max was just walking around the Counselors' Cabin in his pjs, his hair messy and unbrushed just like hers.

The boy just couldn't stand still. It must be like the fifth time he walked back to her bed.

" What's troubling you, little man ?" She asked and slowly sat up, sniffling as she leaned against her headboard.
Max sighed and walked back to her bed once more, then crawled over to curl in her arms, which she gladly ran a hand through his thick hair.

" I don't know damn thing about taking care of a sick person.." Max grumbled, then sighed, leaning his head over her plump chest.
The curly-haired counselor giggled, then coughed as her throat felt so dry.

" Well.. you could always start by getting me some water.." Max nodded and sat up, then crawled off her bed to walk out the cabin toward the Mess Hall.

(Y/n) gave a sigh, wiping some more sweat off her forehead. She felt so hot, like her body was boiling from the inside-out. The counselor forces her muscles to work and pushes her body to get off her bunk.

" Jesus fuck.." She softly wheezed, already feeling exhausted beside not doing much effort yet. " I hate being sick.."
After some pushes and making sure her legs wouldn't give out, the woman slowly walked to the bathroom in the cabin to take a cold bath to make her fever go down.

She could only shriek as cold water hit her burning skin..

.
.

After taking time in the bathroom, mostly because her body had trouble moving off the wall, she was back to her bed. She felt so refreshed..

Max was back in the cabin, too. He came back 5 minutes ago with a whole bottle of fresh water. The last thing he wanted was for his mother figure to be dehydrated..

Speaking of mother figure, many dropped by to see how the curly-haired counselor was feeling...which is not good, her back started hurting.

Gwen gladly volunteered to keep her eye on her co-counselor while David was taking care of the other camps. And by 'volunteer', I mean she was mostly writing in her diary while actually checking like ⅓ of the time.

Though Max was really the one to keep an eye on the sick counselor. He may not know how to take care of a sick person, but he was sure to try what his 10-year-old brain thought what would be the most logical thing to do.

Speaking of which, lunchtime arrived, and, with the usual chef having the flu, shitty mashed potatoes were served instead.

" C'mon Max, you gotta need to eat something!!" It was like this for the last 5 minutes. David was trying to drag Max back to eat in the Mess Hall, but the boy was way too stubborn to obey, even less now that it was David's fault his mother was this sick.
