Gretchen x Reader
Words: 1.1k
Gretchen was going to get killed; she was going to die, and Regina would be the one to kill her.She fell for someone who she wasn't allowed to, someone who Regina hates more than anymore, and it's a big problem for Gretchen.
That 'someone' was you, and there are many reasons why her crushing on you is a problem. One, you are a girl, and Regina can't stand gay people; and another, you are an art freak, and if Gretchen is seen hanging out with you, that will dig into the plastic's reputation. Two, you come from a lower social class, which threatens Regina's status as queen bee of the school. This forbidden attraction puts Gretchen in a dangerous position where she must choose between her own happiness and Regina's wrath.
But the main reason is that last year you ruined Regina's 2 year streak of winning spring fling queen; you won it last year. That's what made Regina hate you the most; she was so annoyed at you.
After the dancing that day, she left for home. Running up to her room, she grabbed the hot pink book out of her closet and labelled you as the "sore loser who only won spring fling queen because everyone feels pity for her" in the burn book. Gretchen was aware that jealousy and resentment were the main causes of Regina's rage towards her.
Gretchen was unable to deny her own happiness any longer, even in the face of Regina's impending fury. Grtechen couldn't hide the burning sensation in her heart upon realising Regina had recorded it. She was powerless to stop it; all she could do was observe and seem to agree.
So, Gretchen comes up with an amazing idea. She wanted to start seeing you, but in secret.
Gretchen woke up on Monday morning and was so excited to see you. She happily got out of bed and drove to school, calling Regina and saying that she would make her own way again.
She skipped over to the back of the classroom, where the two of you always meet early in the mornings, and sat down, waiting for you to show up.
As she sat there, Gretchen couldn't help but feel a rush of adrenaline at the thought of keeping your meetings a secret. The thrill of sneaking around only added to the excitement of seeing you. She couldn't wait to hear about your weekend adventures and share her own stories with you. The anticipation of your arrival made her heart race with excitement.
She only had to wait for 10 minutes before you showed up; she looked you up and down and admired what you were wearing. You exchanged a knowing smile, both revelling in the thrill of your clandestine meetings. Gretchen couldn't help but feel a sense of connection and intimacy with you, which made the risk worth it.
"I like your top." Gretchen smiles, moving to the side to make room for you. "So you like yourself?" you asked, giggling slightly and sitting down next to her.
It took Gretchen a second to pick it up.
When she did, she started giggling, pulling you down to like your head in her lap. She kissed your forehead as you began to talk. You both laughed, breaking the tension that had been building between you. The playful banter only added to the excitement of your secret.
"I wish we didn't have to hide who we are." You say, Gretchen nods, agreeing with what you were saying. "I know, but for now, it's our little secret," Gretchen whispered, running her fingers through your hair. The moment felt intimate and safe, with a bond forming between you that was unbreakable.
Even though you know Gretchen has a reputation for telling everyone things that she hears, you trust her to keep this secret. You feel a sense of relief knowing that you have someone to confide in, despite the risks involved. As you both share a knowing look, you realise that this shared secret has brought you closer together in a way that no one else could understand.
You start to hear people coming to school, and you panic for a second, getting off Gretchen so she can leave. "I will see you tomorrow, or after school today." Gretchen smiles, getting up to go and find her friends.
She walked to her table and gasped when she saw Regina wearing sweat pants. She gulped, looking at her just before she sat down on the team. "I'm sorry, Regina, you can't sit with us." She said, looking the blonde up and down.
"What?" She asks, and everyone could hear her voice breaking, "You're wearing sweatpants. It's Thursday." Gretchen reminded Regina, rolling her eyes, "Whatever, those rules aren't real." Gregina said, Karen gasped, "They were real that day; I wore a vest!"
Regina rolled her eyes again. "Yeah, because the rest was discussing!" She yelled, "You can't sit with us!" Gretchen yelled, making Regina sigh, "These sweatpants are all that fit me right now." Regina said, looking down, "What do you think, Cady?" Gretchen asked, and Cady turned around to face Regina, who was staring down at her.
"Sorry Regina, rules are rules." She said this, smirking at Regina. "Fine." Regina said, turning away from the table. Every student was staring at her. She rolled her eyes at everyone. "Take a picture, losers. It would last longer." She said, walking out of the cafeteria as everyone took out their phones and started recording.
Gretchen smirked, walking up to you with a smile on her face. "I'm going to a party on the weekend, and Regina won't be there. Do you want to come?" You sigh, shaking your head. Parties weren't really your thing, but she quickly understands.
When you walk into the school on Monday, you see this hot pink book. You pick it up and gasp when you read the second last page. It was about you. You feel a presence next to you. Turning around, you see Regina. You move away from her and turn to the last page, gasping when you see that it was about Regina.
She gasped and started crying, taking the book from you. A few girls have taken pictures of it, so everyone knows that the book has leaked. Your heart broke when you realised that Gretchen wasn't in it, which meant she must have written it. You went to the principal's office with Regina behind you, showing him what you found.
You didn't talk to Gretchen for the rest of the day because even if she didn't write it, you were hurt by the fact that she didn't tell you.
