Y/N's pov
A blank white ceiling welcomed me the moment I opened my eyes. I tried to move but stopped once I felt the snap of pain all over my body. My mouth felt dry, my throat was sore and I felt dehydrated all over. I looked around my surroundings to see that I was in a dark room. The window was left half open as the wind gently breezed in and cooled the room. The sky outside seemed dark. It was already night. I must've been out for so long... I attempted to get up again but failed to do so as the pain once again spread all over my body. I groaned and went back to laying on the bed.

The sound of the door opening and footsteps approaching me caught my attention. I quickly glanced at the unknown person who had just entered the room. "Are you feeling fine?" The boy asked. He looked around my age and he is attractive for sure. But most of all, he strangely looked identical to the little boy I saw in my dream moments ago. Who was it?? Deng Jiaxian? Deng Jiaxin? The only difference is that, this current boy in front of me is older. "W..water" I managed to croak out. "I'd thought you'd ask, here." He gently helped me sit up and gave me the glass of water he brought along. I emptied out the water contents before he took it from my hand and placed it on the bedside table temporarily.

"Who are you? Where am I?" I asked the moment my throat felt better. He pressed his lips into a thin line, contemplating about something, "My name is... Cheng XiaYuan. You're here in my mansion because you were accidentally hit by my car while crossing the road. I called a doctor and treated you here. You're injuries were pretty bad. Sorry about that.." "oh.." was all I managed to let out, it seemed unreal to me that I had just been hit by a car. It's like my memories of the accident had been erased. The last thing I remember was being kicked out of ZuoHang's house by Zhu zhixin after getting accused or murder. "How long was I asleep for?" I asked. "5 days." After hearing his answer, I blinked my eyes in shock. What the heck? It just felt like I was asleep for one night.

"I think it will be best if you rest in my mansion for a few more weeks considering you just got hit by a car and it happened to be my car. I have to take responsibility for my actions." Cheng XiaYuan suggested. "How do I know I can trust you? Well.. don't get me wrong, I am grateful for you treating me and all but you're still basically a stranger to me." I eyed the boy I just met moments ago suspiciously. "If I intended to do bad things to you, I could've done it while you were asleep or I would've left you to die on the road and flee away after hitting you." He made a point. "Hmm I guess you're right." My eyebrows furrowed thinking deeply.

"What were you doing alone on the highway anyway?" He glances at me in curiosity. "Uhh it's a long story. You wouldn't even believe me if I had told you." I recall the events. "Do you believe that vampires exist?" The random question quickly flew out of my mouth. Cheng XiaYuan looks shocked before clearing his throat awkwardly, "They could, who knows? Why do you suddenly ask?" "Well they do exist. Believe it or not I met some." I shared the information with him. "Really?" Cheng XiaYuan seems very very interested all of a sudden, "Where?"

"I don't know. That's why I was in the middle of a random highway when you crashed into me. I was trying to find my way back home after I got kicked out of their house for apparently murdering their brother? It confuses me. I don't recall doing anything bad let alone murder someone." I unconsciously started ranting unaware of how Cheng XiaYuan's expression changed. "Okay... Maybe they mistook you for someone. " Cheng XiaYuan smiled at me but the smile didn't seem to reach his eyes, "Get some rest now. I'll get going, see you in the morning." He proceeded to get up, took the glass from the table and walked to the door.

He turns the handle and opens the door. Before he walks out, he looks back at me. I don't know if I saw it wrong or his eyes just shone a dark red color. Chills immediately went down my spine. He didn't look human. "One more thing. You might be surrounded by vampires more than you think or.... you might be one yourself... Who knows?"
