Back in SunRock, Tuskan and Clover had made it to the rapids. The log bridge was there as told by the bear.
"So, all you have got to do is cross that log bridge, it looks quite secure. I've been across it many times." Silva said.
"Aren't you coming with us?" Tuskan asked.
"No, I have family nearby and I don't think they could function without me," he looked sheepish as he spoke, his statement a sort of lie.
"Oh, no problem. I will go over first and make sure it's safe then Tuskan, you can head over." Clover said.
Tuskan said, wearily "Okay"
Clover walked along the hollowed-out log. It creaked suddenly but stood firm. Tuskan shivered at the side of the rapids. Silva watched and consoled Tuskan.
"You okay?"
"Log bridges aren't exactly my bosom chum"
"Ah, don't worry. It is perfectly safe. Also, you don't want to act scared in front of her." He pointed to Clover, now safely on the other side.
Tuskan started to walk across. The white water rushed beneath him, steep sides of the banks on both sides, the stony wall where the waterfall at the top stood. But something else stood up there too. It was Kadota and he was about to push a smallish boulder onto the log bridge.
"I'm Ok, I'll be okay." Tuskan said to himself.
Kadota pushed the boulder onto the bridge and blocking the way in front of Tuskan. He became so shocked and collapsed on the bridge. Clover ran over to him while Silva went to confront the wolf. Sadie and Hiro showed up in the nick of time and pushed the two wolves off the bridge and into the water below.
In his mind, all is blank. He gets up and looks around. In front of him stands a Kitsune.
"Greetings and Salutations Tuskan. It is I, your spirit guide/inner animal Kip the Kitsune." Kip said.
"Kip, great to see you again. Where are we?"
"In your mind, I thought you would recognise it."
"Of course, but why?"
"You collapsed on the bridge, as far as I can recall you are on the other side"
"The other side, Am I dead?"
"No, the other side of the bridge, just unconscious and unharmed. Clover took you over."
"What else?"
"Sadie and Hiro came and noticed the two wolves were the lupine twins, Kadota and Majoto. They fought each other, and the Lupine's fell from the bridge into the rapids.
"Why couldn't I see it?"
"You collapsed, remember?"
"Oh yeah."
"Would you like some words of wisdom before you wake up?"
"If it'll help."
"Stay close to the ones who are near, stay close to the ones who hold you dear, for in this world no deed may be done, until the day you find the one."
