Chapter 2: Capture The Fox

"Leto, we're going to head back to the den. Keep an eye out for any danger" Tuskan said. 

"No problem, I'll make sure." Leto said.

"Tuskan?" Clover asked as they walked back to the den.

"Hm?"

"Do you think they'll find Sadie and Hiro?"

"I hope so."

"Do you miss Gerald?" She asked.

"Sure, I do. He was my best friend, my brother."

"Do you really think they'll find them?"

He shrugged.

"Clover?"

"Yeah?"

"Do you ever think about the future, about what will happen next?"

"Not really, no. I'm pretty happy with what the future has in store for me. What do you think will happen to me?"

Tuskan laughed, but was unable to answer.

"We can never..." A whoosh is heard as a tranquilizer dart hit Tuskan in the shoulder. "Predict... The future... Go on...!" He said as he fell to the floor.

Two large men walked out of the trees and picked him up, only to drop him again.

"Ow!" Tuskan said, dozily.

"Oh my gosh, Tuskan!" Clover said as she tried to lunge at the men. She got hit with the stock of the tranquilizer rifle and fell to the ground.

"You idiots, get over here and secure her."

Tuskan and Clover were put in crates, to be relocated. Although the men had an aggressive manner, they were wildlife conservationists. The two foxes were to be relocated to SunRock wildlife reserve in the regional park, near SunRock City.

After 30 minutes, Leto went the direction Clover and Tuskan went, to check on them. She walked along the path but came across a tuft of orange fur, a blood stain on the grass, and a strewn tranquilizer dart.

"I must tell Father," She said, running in the direction of Tatunka and the rest of the Aces.

Meanwhile Tatunka, Brawn, Kristofer, Willow, and Myron return from the South Forest. Leto ran up to them.

"Leto, where are Tuskan and Clover?" Tatunka asked.

"They're gone" Leto said quietly, still upset about the loss of her friends.

"What do you mean they're gone? What happened?"

"I heard they were going back to the den, I went to check on them and found something" Leto said.

Tatunka turned around and sprinted towards the den. The others followed as fast as they could.

Tatunka saw two tufts of orange fur but only one strewn dart. The blood stain on the grass had dried over black.

"It seems the two were killed with one dart."

Brawn and Tatunka quickly gather up the dart and dart tuft. The foxes and wolves all looked at each other and feared the worst.

"No, the blood looks splattered from an impact. They must have been knocked unconscious. At least one of them. Someone hit them hard."

"Let's head back to the clearing, keep an eye out for any irregularities." Tatunka said.

The foxes run back to the clearing. Again, they all looked at each other.

"We've got to find them, we'll search the past den, the farm and the village. You guys stay here." Kristofer said.

The three of you head to the farmhouse while the others gather around the den.

"You guys wait here, don't move." Brawn and Tatunka tell the others.

"Uncle?"

"Yeah?" Kristofer said.

"What do you think will happen to Clover and Tuskan?"

"I don't know."

"Do you think they'll be okay?"

"Yeah, I mean they're both smart. Maybe they'll figure out a way to escape or get help."
