CHAPTER 2 :- The Awakening of Powers

The twins, Ashley and Jade, led Alex, June, and Sam into the opulent interior of their mansion, the air crackling with an energy that seemed to hum with untold secrets. Seated in a cosy sitting room adorned with plush furniture and flickering candlelight, the twins gestured for their guests to take a seat. As they settled in, Ashley's gaze swept over them with keen interest, while Jade regarded them with a sense of quiet intensity.

"It's not every day that we encounter visitors such as yourselves," Ashley began, her voice carrying a note of intrigue. "But we sensed the stirring of destiny in the air when you arrived." Jade nodded in agreement, his eyes alight with the flickering flames of the nearby hearth. "Indeed," he said, his voice resonating with a quiet authority. "For you are not ordinary travellers. You possess powers that lie dormant within you, waiting to be unleashed. "Alex exchanged a bewildered glance with June and Sam, uncertainty clouding their expressions. "Powers?" he echoed, his voice tinged with disbelief. "What powers?"

Ashley smiled knowingly, her eyes twinkling with amusement. "The powers of the elements," she explained, her voice filled with a sense of reverence. "For you are the chosen ones, destined to wield the forces of nature against the darkness that threatens to engulf our world. "Jade nodded in agreement, his expression grave. "I have the power of fire," he stated, a flicker of flame dancing in his outstretched hand. "While my sister commands the waters of the earth." As realization dawned upon them, Alex, June, and Sam exchanged glances, the weight of their newfound abilities settling upon their shoulders like a heavy mantle. "But why us?" June asked, her voice trembling with uncertainty. "What makes us worthy of this power you say we have? "Ashley's smile softened, her gaze filled with compassion. "That is a question that only destiny can answer," she replied, her voice tinged with mystery. "But know this: you are not alone. We will guide you on your journey, as you learn to harness the powers that lie within you." Jade continued "You must learn to control this power. Sometimes-" His words seemed to get stuck in his throat. " -sometimes if you don't learn to control them, they will control you." said Ashley, taking over from Jade.

"How do we control this power?' asked Sam. Ashley and Jade looked at each other with a glint in their eyes. They got up and said in unison, "Follow us." They walked down a long corridor which ended in a room. " Who wants to go first?" asked Jade. When no one answered, Ashley said," Okay then, June go. " June was taken aback at this sentence. "What do I have to do? I don't know how to use my powers! " She said. "I will go." said Alex bravely. "OK. Jade take him in and explain. Meanwhile, you guys come with me." said Ashley. Jade took Alex into the room while Ashley lead them to another room and told them to sit down. " Even though we know your names, you never introduced yourselves. So, tell me something about yourselves." Ashley observed that they were a bit taken back, so she said," Oh, I don't really speak in that spooky mysterious way in reality. That was just for fun." "Oh. Well my name is June and Alex is my older brother. I'm 14 and he's 15." Said June. " I'm Sam. Alex is my best friend and i am 15 as well. I love the nature.""Somehow it always finds a way to calm me down." said Sam. "Nice to know you guys. My brother and I are 16 years old." Ashley checked her wrist. There was some kind of small computer on it. So what's in the room? "Asked Sam. " If I tell you it won't be a surprise" she replied. Just then a small alarm was heard. She asked June to follow her, leaving Sam alone in the room. Sam's curiosity got better of him and he started exploring the room. He saw a large case carefully kept along the wall. Just as he reached towards it, He heard Ashley say," I like your curiosity, but I advise you not to touch that. My brother gets angry when someone touches it," Ashley had quietly sneaked into the room. " You a Ninja spy or something like that ?" asked Sam jokingly. Ashley cracked a small smile and walked towards him. "You like nature huh right. You are going to love our garden." she said. Sam too was then led into the room where Ashley explained that all he had to do was get the red flag kept and the other end of the room.

Sam knew something was fishy and hence walked slowly towards the flag. A huge flash made him realize that he was being teleported once again. When he opened his eyes he was in the forest again. He found Alex and June lying next to him. He woke them up and told them about what had happened. They both thought it was just a dream. When they were discussing his dream they heard a large roar. Sam looked behind Alex which was where the roar had come from. A large grizzly bear came towering out of the forest.

The bear grabbed Alex and June . Seeing his friends in danger made something click in him. With a fierce cry, Sam unleashed a torrent of energy, channelling the elemental forces that lay dormant within him to create a barrier of earth and stone between him and the advancing bear. As the barrier rose before them, the bear roared in frustration, its massive form crashing against the barrier with relentless force. It dropped his friends who came running toward Sam.Sam held firm, his will unyielding as he poured every ounce of his strength into maintaining the barrier. And as the bear's attacks grew weaker with each passing moment, he knew that victory was within their grasp. He noticed a small red flag on the opposite side of the barrier. He made the barrier collapse and ran towards the flag with all his strength , the bear running after him. Just when the bear was about to grab him, Sam's hand touched the soft velvet of the flag transporting him back to the room.

"Nice work!" said Ashley leading him out. They entered another room where June and Alex were sitting. "Which element?" asked Jade. " Earth." replied Ashley.

As Jade brought out the small board labeled "Classification of Powers," the group gathered around, their eyes drawn to the intricate markings etched upon its surface. With a sense of anticipation, they listened as Jade began to explain the classification of powers.
