Chapter 9 :- Shadowbound and Shadowbane

The next morning the group set out at the crack of dawn. As they made their way through the dense forest, June's curiosity bubbled to the surface, her voice breaking the silence that hung heavy in the air. "Who is the Shadowbound?" she inquired, her eyes wide with anticipation.Jade's brow furrowed with concern, his mind racing as he considered how much to reveal.With a heavy sigh, he turned to face June, his expression sombre. "The Shadowbound was the first to harness the powers of death," he explained, his voice grave with caution.A shiver ran down June's spine at the mention of such dark powers, her eyes widening in apprehension. "How did he come to possess such abilities?" she pressed, her curiosity piqued by the mysterious figure that loomed over their mission.

Jade's gaze darkened, his jaw set with determination as he recounted the tale. "He was a child of Chaos, born from the very fabric of the universe," he began, his voice tinged with sadness. "But as he grew older, he became consumed by greed and ambition, thirsting for power above all else." The group falls silent, the weight of Jade's words hanging heavy in the air as they continued their journey through the forest. Each step forward brought them closer to their destination, yet also closer to the shadow of the Shadowbound that loomed over their mission." Who is the Shadowbane?"asked Alex. His question hung in the air, his curiosity sparking a conversation that delved into the depths of their mission. Jade's brow furrowed as he considered how much to reveal, knowing that the truth would only deepen their sense of peril. 

"The Shadow Bane is a figure shrouded in darkness," Jade began, his voice grave with caution. "Like the Shadowbound, he possesses powers of death, but his story is one of tragedy and loss." The group listened intently as Jade recounted the tale of the Shadow Bane, a human who had succumbed to the darkness within him. "He was like us, once," Jade continued, his voice heavy with sorrow. "A shiver ran down Sam's spine at the mention of such dark forces at play, his mind reeling with the implications of their encounter with the Shadow Bane. "Shouldn't the Shadowbound be dead now?" he asked, his voice tinged with uncertainty. Jade's gaze darkened as he considered Sam's question, knowing that the truth was far more complicated than he could reveal. "The Shadowbound is immortal," he explained, his voice heavy with dread.

"Ashley stepped forward, her eyes flashing with determination. "But we won't let that happen," she declared, her voice ringing with conviction. "We'll stop the Shadow Bane and put an end to the Shadowbound's reign of terror once and for all."
