In the classroom the next day, Rohan, Yash, and Kabir sat together. Kabir noticed Rohan's subdued demeanor and asked, "Rohan, are you okay? You seem a bit down since this morning."
Rohan forced a smile and replied, "I'm fine, Kabir. Just a bit tired, that's all."
Kabir sensed that something was amiss but decided not to push further. Instead, he shifted the conversation, looking at Rohan intently. "So, Rohan, what's your plan to take revenge on Tara?"
Rohan's expression turned serious as he leaned in slightly. "I don't think revenge is the answer, Kabir. It'll only escalate things further."
Yash, who had been listening quietly, chimed in, "I agree with Rohan. We should focus on resolving the conflict rather than seeking revenge."
Kabir looked surprised by their response. "But she slapped me in front of everyone! She needs to face the consequences."
Rohan shook his head. "I understand that you're upset, Kabir, but retaliating won't solve anything. Let's try to talk to Tara and find a way to sort this out peacefully."
Yash nodded in agreement. "We can't let this animosity continue. It's affecting everyone in the class."
Kabir hesitated for a moment, contemplating their words. "Okay, fine. But if talking doesn't work, I'm not going to let her get away with it."
Rohan placed a reassuring hand on Kabir's shoulder. "We'll handle it together, Kabir. Violence or revenge won't solve anything. Let's approach this maturely and try to find a resolution."
Tara sat down beside Kabir, her expression guarded but curious as Rohan invited her to talk.
Kabir took a deep breath and addressed Tara directly. "Listen, Tara, I don't know why you think I'm the one who took your notebook and put your name on the bulletin board. I had nothing to do with it."
Tara's eyes narrowed slightly. "Then who else would do something like that? You're the only person who seems to have a problem with me, Kabir. You took my notebook just before the exams when you knew I needed it. And let's not forget all the pranks you've played on me."
Kabir shook his head. "I admit, I've played pranks on you in the past, but this time, I'm innocent. Why would I give an idea to check everyone's bags if I were guilty?"
Tara scoffed. "That's exactly what someone guilty would do. Make it seem like they have nothing to hide."
Rohan interjected, trying to calm the tension. "Guys, accusing each other won't help. Let's focus on finding out the truth."
Tara's frustration boiled over as she lashed out at Kabir and rejected Rohan's attempt to mediate. "What truth? The truth is right in front of me - Kabir took my notebook, and that's it! I don't want to talk to you, Kabir. Get out!" she exclaimed, her voice tinged with anger.
Rohan tried to calm her down again, "Tara, please. Let's not jump to conclusions. We need to handle this maturely and find a peaceful resolution."
Kabir, feeling unfairly accused, stood his ground. "Maine kuch nahi kiya, Tara. Tumhe mere pe bharosa nahi hai, toh thik hai. Lekin sachchai ko sabke saamne laana hoga."
Tara, seething with anger and frustration, stormed out of the classroom, leaving behind a tense atmosphere.
Kabir's anger only escalated. "Dekha, Rohan? Mujhe baat karne se kuch nahi milta. Usme bahut attitude hai, ek baar sorry bhi nahi bola chate ke liye. Sun bhi nahi rahi hai. Jo karna hai karne de. Main jo karungi, jo mujhe karna hai, chate ka badla toh lungu," he declared, his words filled with determination.
Rohan sighed, realizing the difficulty of the situation. Despite his efforts to mediate, the rift between Tara and Kabir seemed to deepen. He hoped that with time and cooler heads, they would be able to resolve their differences and move forward.
As the day progressed, Kabir's frustration and resentment towards Tara boiled over, leading him to engage in more childish pranks. One such incident occurred during a break between classes when Kabir noticed Tara sitting alone, engrossed in her notebook.
With a mischievous grin, Kabir quietly approached Tara's desk and discreetly placed a piece of chewed gum on the back of her chair, right where her hair would touch it. He then retreated to his own seat, waiting for the prank to unfold.
As the break ended and students started returning to their seats, Tara remained unaware of the impending prank. She stood up to gather her things, and as she did so, her hair brushed against the gum-stuck chair.
At first, Tara didn't notice anything amiss. However, as she walked back to her seat, she felt a strange stickiness in her hair. Confused, she reached up to touch her hair and realized with horror that there was gum stuck in it.
"What the fuck ?" Tara exclaimed, her voice filled with annoyance and disbelief. She turned around to see Kabir snickering nearby, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
"Kabir, did you put gum in my hair?" Tara asked, her tone tinged with anger as she tried to untangle the sticky mess.
Kabir feigned innocence, his grin widening. "Oh, did you find something in your hair, Tara? Must be a prankster on the loose."
Shock and embarrassment washed over Tara as she realized she had fallen victim to yet another one of Kabir's childish pranks. Her classmates started snickering, and some even pointed and whispered, drawing attention to Tara's predicament.
Feeling humiliated and frustrated, Tara tried to discreetly remove the gum from her hair, but it proved to be a difficult task. She could feel the sticky residue clinging to her hair strands, making her feel self-conscious and uncomfortable.
Kabir, watching from afar, couldn't help but smirk at his successful prank. However, as he saw Tara's discomfort and the reactions of their classmates, a pang of guilt and remorse flickered in his mind.
Despite his initial satisfaction at pulling off the prank, Kabir realized that his actions had crossed a line and caused genuine distress to Tara.
"Kabir, I told you to stay away from me! Please, let me study in peace, and enough of your childish pranks," Tara said, frustration evident in her voice.Kabir, ignoring Tara's plea, stepped closer with a playful grin. "Really? I will not stay away from you, Tara. In fact, I like you. You bring out the best in me with your fiery spirit," he replied, teasingly.
Tara's eyes narrowed, her patience wearing thin. "You are such a jerk, Kabir!" she exclaimed, unable to contain her irritation.
Kabir simply shrugged, taking Tara's words as a compliment rather than criticism. "Thanks for the compliment," he said with a smirk, clearly unfazed by Tara's anger.
Meanwhile, Tara managed to clean up the gum as best as she could, but the incident had left her feeling frustrated and wary of Kabir's antics. The tension between them only seemed to escalate, setting the stage for further conflict and drama in their already strained relationship.
