Cell was waiting for us. His arena was made like one out of a video game. The first to arrive was Vegeta. The second one to arrive was this big green suit guy with an orange mohawk. Before them was this Afro looking guy that had muscles. And with him was this commenter guy. So this was going to be broadcast all over the world. That means that mom, diamond, everyone at school, superheroes, if they were real or not, was going to be watching the fate of the world be decided at the hands of the Z-fighters, this bozo and whoever he brought with him, and myself. Though, am I considered a Z-fighter? I dunno if I have the qualifications.
Losers fight first. And they were losers because they lost. Hercule, that was his name, was mad at us because we trained to fight this calm looking beast of man's creation, and then he sent his lackies to fight Cell. They lost and boy did they lose in a way that was disgraceful to the way of fighting as a whole. Or maybe it was because that Cell was in another league that this guy and his disciples clearly wasn't in?
After Cell played with them, yes he played with them, then came the warm up. Goku was Cell's warm up before they started to fight seriously as the fight dragged on. Gohan and the others weren't as worried as I was in the beginning. But as the fight went on, Cell started to increase his power over and over again, vanishing with Goku and slowly getting the upper hand and then destroying his own ring.
Watching this, I knew that it was over. Goku didn't stand a chance. And I think Goku himself knew that because after the second round, nearly blowing off Cell's head, Cell regenerated! Goku was damaged and losing stamina fast. Cell was in the same condition but he wasn't in as bad a shape as Goku was. And then just when Vegeta had finished talking with Trunks, who I just met, Goku said these words to Cell after Cell said something about seeing earth's true hero fight his last fight: "You're right Cell, the world does deserve to see its true hero fight."
Why was he plopping out of his aura?
Why was he smiling?
And why did he just-Oh no-He gave up. Gohan's father just gave up. That means that Gohan and myself, the only ones who could tank Cell in his state, were the only ones who could get the job done.
When Goku announced that Gohan and myself will be fighting against Cell, Gohan was shocked to say the least. Shaking too. Never saw this side of Gohan before. I knew that Goku would have Gohan and I fight, because he could sense that we were the only ones who could beat Cell. He knew this. Probably why he gave me his blood for the transfusion to work. He knew that Gohan would need the help facing this guy. And I just so happened to be at the right place and at the right time. So Goku floated to where everyone was, standing on top of a sturdy cliff, and Goku looked at Gohan and myself. "You guys got this. Right?"
Gohan and me looked at Goku. Gohan was shocked that his father would pull something like this on him. I was shocked too, but more so wanting to see what training like this could cause. But because Gohan was older than me, I respected him. So I said, "Only if Gohan says he got it. Then I got it too."
Gohan looked at me as I smiled and gave a thumbs up. Gohan had my back since we first met, and I couldn't find the words or the ways to repay such a friendship that Gohan gave me since I was a new kid in California. Gohan and Pyrrha and Bubbles and Blossom and Buttercup, they were my only friends. Everyone else, saved my mommy and big sister and her friends, looked down on me and despised me. Just because one like me was different. But that didn't matter now. Gohan needed someone to back him up. And I was more than willing to do that. Because Gohan did it for me.
"Don't be foolish Goku! If you couldn't defeat Cell, what makes you think Juvonny and Gohan could do it?!" Piccolo was enraged. And for a good reason, Mr. Piccolo, knew gohan since he was a kid. He was Gohan's teacher and mentor. Friend. To see Goku, Gohan's own dad, decide this without even talking with Gohan about it, it was enough to give Piccolo a reason to speak against this decision.
