Sitting on the bed, Jax takes the keys out of his pocket, and puts them on his key ring with all the rest of the untested keys. He then takes out his lighter and cigarettes, pulls one out of the box, and lights it. He almost forgot how good it felt to smoke. He puts the cigarette in his mouth and starts smoking. After a while, Jax blows out the smoke and stamps out the cigarette, throwing it in the trash. He uses Breezefree (not getting copyrighted here) to rid the room of its smoky smell, but it still smells slightly smoky.

Jax walks out of his room, and bumps into Zooble. “Oh, sorry, Zoobz.” Jax teases. “Shut up.” Zooble snaps. “Jeez, Zoobz.” Jax giggles. He walks away, but Zooble follows. “Why are you always such a brat, Jax?” Jax knew it was a rhetorical question, but he still answered. “I dunno.” “Well you should know.” Zooble mutters. “Well sorry!~” Jax says, extending the O and rolling his eyes.  “AHHhhH- Oh, hi Jax, hi Zooble!” Kinger says as they reach the central room. “Hi, Hoo-Hah.” Jax responds. “Hi.” Zooble says.

“Hi, Zooble and Jax, you’re just in time for our adventure!” Caine noisily greets. “Oh? And what could that be?” Jax sarcastically says. “You’re all going to show each other your acts, since I don’t think I let you all see each other while practice.” Caine states. Jax’s pupils constrict. He hadn't practiced the guitar in a while, how was he supposed to play? He could always play ‘Hayloft II’ by Mother Mother, which he mastered. But he wanted to sing along, too, just to add some extra extravagance.

“Alright. Let me get something from my room, first, though.” Jax says. “Okay.” Caine says, not fully paying attention. Jax dashes to his room, grabbing his electric guitar. (reference to two things) Jax also grabs his amp and his microphone, and dashes to the secret stage he convinced Caine to add. He slams the button to make the stage appear, and plugs in his amp in a hurry. Then, he plugs in his microphone and sets it up. It seems that Zooble performed her act while he was setting up, and they were all chatting while walking to the stage.

Jax nervously fiddles with his fingers while waiting. Jax has always been impatient. “Can you guys hurry up?” Jax annoyedly asks.  “We’re hurrying!” Kinger frantically says. Once they’re all at the stage, Jax plays a scale before playing the song.

(After that because I’m not copy-pasting the lyrics bc it makes me feel awkward and people are gonna skip it anyway)

“It sounds like you’ve been practicing, Jax! You’re doing better than the last time I checked.” Caine compliments. “Thanks, Caine.” Jax replies. “Wow, Jax, I didn’t even know you played guitar!” Gangle comments. “Well now you do, Crybaby.” Jax carelessly says. He stuffs his guitar back in its case and walks back to his room to put it away. Caine said that he could leave now, so he jumped out the window again and dashed to his treehouse, quickly climbing up the ladder.

He looked around there for anything in particular, and he found a tape recorder and a VHS player. Jax looks around for anything else, but he can’t seem to find any other things. He sighs, and takes out his music player. He picks a random song, not really caring about which one, and takes out his cigarettes and his lighter. He lights a cigarette and puts it in between his sharp teeth. He takes a deep breath, and after around five minutes, he takes one last puff before stomping out his cigarette.
