Emory

Thursday night, after putting Georgie to bed, I went downstairs for a glass of water. Aria had gone to sleep around the same time as Georgie and I didn't want to bother her, so I stayed down there sitting at the counter. I had been texting with Brett but he had to take a shower so, I probably wouldn't hear back from him till tomorrow since he almost always fell asleep immediately after showering. I remember When he took P.E. he would always fall asleep in our math class afterwards. Although that could have also been because he found math boring, but regardless I didn't expect to hear from him for the rest of the night. After playing games and scrolling  through Instagram for a few minutes I click back over to my messages and send Bentley the video Georgie took earlier. I was half expecting her to ignore it, but then after a few seconds she replies.

Bentley-

Aw, did Georgie make that?

Emory

No
: (

Bentley

My bad

It looks great,

That was very nice of you

Emory

Thanks

: )

How was your night

Bentley

...

She starts to type then it disappears, then pops up again. It's about five minutes before she replies.

Bentley

It was fine

I was about to ask more but then my aunt called me. Figuring I could ask Bentley later I answer the phone. "Hey, what's up?"

"Hey buttercup, I was calling to check in on how things were and also ask you something." She had called me the day the news found out about the kidnapper thing. I had lied and told her that even through it was a bit rough emotion wise for the Jacobs, everyone was fine here. I don't know why I lied, there was no purpose in not telling her. It did nothing really if she knew, but something in me felt like it was betraying the Jacobs if I told her.

"Everything's good here, we celebrated Arias birthday tonight, but nothing much else going on. What about you, how's the move going?" She was expecting to be moved within a couple weeks, and by the time my next visit came Around, I would have a new room. Scott lived in a four bedroom house that he inherited from his grandparents last year, so there was plenty of room for me and all my future cousins. Aunt Katie says it'll probably be a while before I have a cousin though, and that I should probably slow down since her and Scott aren't married or anything yet. I don't think it'll be long though.

"The move is going pretty good, right on schedule, but there was something I wanted to talk to you about." She sounded a bit nervous, which worried me. I hadn't told her about the deal Anthony made me. The one where if I still want to go back to New River at the end of the semester, they'd let me. Maybe Anthony had told her though, and she decided that she didn't want me back. Maybe she liked not having a kid to take care of.
