Lagos, Nigeria

2016

Lexi looked over the various items displayed on the market stall, different necklaces, and bracelets littering the table - all fake, of course. She slowly glanced over her left shoulder, ensuring that Wanda hadn't been compromised from her position in the café. She glanced over Wanda's shoulder, meeting Nat's eyes, giving her a discreet nod before turning back around, not wanting to risk looking any more than she should.

"All right, what do you see?" Steve asked Wanda through the comms.

"Standard beat cops," Wanda replied quietly so as to not direct attention to herself. "Small station. Quiet street. It's a good target."

"There's an ATM on the south corner, which means?"

"Cameras."

"Both cross streets are one-way."

"So, compromised escape routes."

"Means our guy doesn't care about being seen. He isn't afraid to make a mess on the way out. ou You see that Range Rover halfway up the block?"

"Yeah, the red one?" Wanda quipped, "it's cute."

"It's bulletproof," Lexi corrected, pretending to scratch her face to mask her speaking from others around her.

"Means private security... which means more guns... which means more headaches for somebody. Probably us," Natasha remarked through the comms, Lexi smirking slightly at the redhead's tone.

"You guys know I can move things with my mind, right?" Wanda snarked.

"So can I," Lexi quickly replied, "don't hear me getting cock about it, do you?"

"Looking over your shoulder needs to become second nature," Natasha scolded Wanda.

"Anybody ever tell you you're a little paranoid?" Sam spoke through comms, Lexi looked up seeing him perched on a nearby roof, ready to swoop in if anything happened.

"Not to my face," Lexi could visualise the smirk on Natasha's face as she spoke. "Why? Did you hear something?" the redhead continued.

"Talia, I can feel your eyes boring into my skull, please stop," Lexi pleaded, not even turning around as she knew she would be met by Natasha's smirking face.

"Eyes on target, folks," Steve ordered, directing their focus back to the mission at hand. "This is the best lead we've had on Rumlow in six months. I don't want to lose him."

"Huh, if he sees us coming, that won't be a problem," Sam scoffed, "he kinda hates us."

"Well, that makes us even," Lexi quirked a brow, "cause I hate him too."

"Sam..." Steve spoke, concern lacing his voice. "See that garbage truck? Tag it."

The team waited patiently as Sam used his new toy 'redwing' to scan the truck. "That truck's loaded for max weight," he informed them all. "And the driver's armed."
